The darker side draws a small amount of people. The majority of porn caters to people who like to watch others or their favorite stars having sex. This is only partially true. There is a darker side to porn, that makes no bones about not being for entertainment.
Meh....everything involving humans has a darker side. This is only partially true. There is a darker side to porn, that makes no bones about not being for entertainment.

Only about half?Really? Did you interview any of these people and find out where they went wrong? I'm willing to bet that at least half were viewing pornography on a regular basis before they advanced in their depravity.
Only about half?

good point...Correlation does not equal causation.
I know that the author of the OP is attempting to correlate the legality of pornography in the US to rapes and sexual assaults that also occur in the US.good point...
Though, I am not sure this is a fair correlation example, as the rules there are generally "do as I say, not as I do".
Do you know what I mean?
