Unpacking Donald Trump's controversial Tweet

It's all a sick freaking joke.

Not like it did with Reagan, Oliver North, and the Iran-Contra affair. Last I knew Republicans view them both as great, with Ollie even at one point having a show on Fox News.

I wouldn't know anything about it. Not a republican, not a fox news guy.

People tend to forget about the bad deal that went on during an administration once that administration is over. Take for instance the "Fast and Furious" scandal during Obama's term. Did you know that that was only just finally finished up in court a few months ago? Did the media cover it? Barely, even then you had to have been paying attention.

5 mins after Trump leaves office the world will move on and he'll go back to wheeling and dealing and nobody will care anymore.

They violated the law, Congress, and the Constitution to deal crack cocaine in America, arms to Iran, and divert the money from the sales to fund the Contras in Nicaragua.

I know the case.

I was referring to the "viewed as heros" claim.

Last I knew, no one is really telling those of us descended from Europeans to "go back to where they came from." It gets said about black people A LOT. The same goes for Latinos, regardless of where they are from or what languages they speak. Just a few short generations ago my ancestors were told to leave and go back to Ireland. But anytime I've been told to leave it's not because of race and it hasn't been to anywhere specific.

Go to some of the reserves up here.

Perhaps, but in my experience there haven't been any Natives telling me to leave. At most I've heard it used as a counter to the argument that immigrants need go back home.

I'm reminded of a funny bit by George Carlin from his album Class Clown

We really gave the Indians a fast trip across the continent, you notice that? They were having a little cookout in Massachusetts- buncha boats came up, man..."Hey, ya mind moving over, guys? Bring in the stuff. Would you move it over, man. Bring in the stuff. Would you move it over, man. Bring in the stuff. Would you move it over, man. Over three mountain ranges...four mountain ranges. Got 'em onto an offshore island, Alcatraz, right? Off the continent completely! They had to take the island to get it! Then we kicked them off there. "I guess we're going to send them back where they came from." Yeah, we must, we.. They bought the Bering Strait theory. "Get them welfare people to work filling in the Bering Strait and charge them Indians a buck a head to go home. It's a good sound business solution."

(It's at about 3:50 in this clip)

Happened to me a few time in HS picking up a friend. It was never about immigration not was immigration even discussed. People saw a white guy on a reserve and lost their ****. Historical resentment is an easy gateway to hating people based on their skin colour. These altercations included full adults not merely teenagers. It is creation of culture.

I'm not denying there are racist Natives. I doubt it's common.

More common than you think.
I keep getting told, and similar things, but I've seen it to come to fruition. Unless I consistently somehow end up meeting ones from various groups (not necessarily ethnic) who are good people with a very small amount of those who aren't.

Perhaps historical resentment isn't that high around your area.

This is just paranoia Half the time people like you think Trump is a grade A moron yet you think he can overthrow the US government and existing laws without issue.
Yeah, that's what Elie Wiesel's friends used to tell him. Until they disappeared.

All norms and forms of decorum have flown out the window with this President. Not a day goes by that a new one doesn't go.

Not applicable here.
Of course it is.
You just choose to ignore it.
Seriously, you should read it.

More or less. Not every detail mind you
Me too.

Blame isn't being spread around when one claimed it is all the US' fault.
Um, okay.
I just said, "I'm not saying they're fully responsible, but there is some blame to go around."
With no military worth a damn. Think about it.
Think about something that has nothing to do with what I said? Nah.

2. to create millions of good, high-wage jobs and ensure prosperity and economic security for all people of the United States;

8. guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States;

15. providing all people of the United States with— (iii) economic security;

All of these must ignore personal choice like someone dropping out of high-school.
Okay, so opening up new avenues of research and development will create more (new) jobs. Great!

I am talking about who he was thinking of when he made that statement

That what he said was for political gain by taking control of the narrative from Pelosi. Again Pelosi was trying to marginalize the Squad. Now she has to defend them.

Your use of clarification to counter my point about AOC yet you rejecting clarification when made by Trump. If clarification is the standard you are using then you must by your own logic accept Trump's. You do not. Ergo double-standard

It was political not racist.

Trump didn't say that.

He said "can go back" followed by "come back here and tell us how it is done"

Even CNN acknowledged this. You are out of your depth due to identity politics.

Yup as socialism is seen as un-American and violated the Constitution as per 4th and 5th ammendments.

You just refuse to see anything outside identity politics. Again even CNN is pointing out it was political manipulation and that Trump won that round.

Jake Tapper on Twitter

Now you are just smearing because I disagree with you. Disagreeing with you isn't racist. You are an idiot now lashing out at anyone that disagrees with you. More so your logic is flawed as I disagree with it being racist thus your point is a non-sequitur. Your smear is just the scripted response of identity politics in which any disagreement must be racist.. Try again
Which is a stupid statement because they are already "telling us how it is done" as Congresswomen, and is the very reason he is beating up on them. Not to mention the fact that three of them are from the frigging USA and the other one came as a child. Ridiculous.

Which proves Shads point of it's not racist. Its nationalist without a doubt.

That's beside the fact that when someone tells someone "if you don't like it leave" it's not about coercing that person to leave. It's about pointing out that person hypocrisy because they complain about the U.S. yet they wouldn't dare go live in another country. Because other countries suck and they know it. Anyone that thinks I'm wrong feel free to prove it and go live in Somalia then come back and tell which country is better. :p
There's hypocrisy in wanting to stay in one's country and make it better? Please.

Falsely accusing everyone of racism, wanting to abolish ICE and DHS, whilst being anti-semitic and unamerican as possible is not going to make America better.

Yeah, that's what Elie Wiesel's friends used to tell him. Until they disappeared.

You are babbling about the past with no evidence in the present for your claim.

All norms and forms of decorum have flown out the window with this President. Not a day goes by that a new one doesn't go.

Nope. You just bought the lies and smooth talk politicians sold you. But hey if your view is as long as politicians speak properly while overthrowing a nation it is fine right?

Of course it is.
You just choose to ignore it.
Seriously, you should read it.

Not applicable as you have no evidence for the present claim hence why you must fearmonger using the past via innuendo and speculation. Yawn.

Um, okay.
I just said, "I'm not saying they're fully responsible, but there is some blame to go around."

The US has no responsibility for the mess of Somalia. You must prove it does for the claim to stick otherwise it is just blame babble.

Think about something that has nothing to do with what I said? Nah.

You compared other nations to the US. You opened that door. I just pulled out other factors. The UK can not even handle Iran.

Okay, so opening up new avenues of research and development will create more (new) jobs. Great!

Yes as per the New Green Deal.

and is the very reason he is beating up on them.

One being they have crazy policy, two they are socialists, three the Dem moderates were trying to marginalize them now Trump made them the face of the party

Not to mention the fact that three of them are from the frigging USA and the other one came as a child. Ridiculous.

So? You are still stuck with in your identity politics mind-trap. You can not see anything outside race and sex. You ignore their horrible policies, they are socialists, and the conflict between the socialist and moderates in the Dem party.
