If everyone could just calm down for just one moment, there actually has been something brought up that is noteworthy if defenses are lowered enough to consider it.

Section 8 is merely a financial housing assistance program which helps with rent which is based upon income and need and number of those in household. Given the single work income, given the fact that one person shall be on disability, Section 8 assistance may be a viable option in up-keeping rent. Said program also has some oversight when it comes to rentals. They must be kept in good repair, must meet certain requirements, landlords must conform to certain rules.

Just saying, it is certainly an option to consider, and given that the falling behind in rent has already been a thing more than once apparently, then getting assistance with it might be something to consider, especially if you do qualify, which it sounds like you may. It would certainly free up your finances to cover other bills and things so they wouldn't be so tight either.

This thread is becoming a mess with people making false assumptions and even being rude and hurtful. These accusations and assumptions are making me upset and are offensive. Stop it. :facepalm:

I never said I never wanted to get on disability or SSI. We already receive public assistance with things like food stamps. Why don't people read my damn OP?! It says that I am going to get on it!

I don't care if you trust me or not, Apple. You're new and you wouldn't know anyone on this board as it is. I'm not new and am a regular poster. If you think I'm an imposter, that's your incorrect opinion but you have the right to it. Other regular posters know who I am and I have the permission of the staff to post this.

I don't believe I was making false assumptions or trying to be rude or hurtful. Merely helpful in a time when emotions seemed to be running high. I have been keeping up with this thread, regardless of not being capable of giving anything now due to our own circumstances, and I have noted the things you have mentioned concerning your finances. Disability, assistance, and all. I did also note that you would not consider Section 8, as if there was something wrong with it. I thought, perhaps, you might have took umbrage to it given the way it was presented. I really don't know. I was just trying to say that it might be something to consider in the long run as it may really help you given your circumstances, both past and present.
