Vatican City rejects French Gay Amb

Good for homosexuals who stays away from sodomy and marriage with samesex. I was talking about gays/lesbians that marry with same sex and do unnatural sex(according to bible).
How do you know what the French guy is into? Have you tried looking into his bedroom? ;)

Most anti-gay people don't seem to know anything about them, but go to books just to judge without knowledge.

I would accept if vaticancity opposed muslim amb. It is their right.
They have relations with many non-Christians, they are a State after all. They don't refuse religions that they think are false according to their books.

Vatican has diplomatic relations with:

Why cant homosexuals and pro-gay camp accept what vatican city wants ?
It's their right as a state of course to make bad relations/PR choices based on their ideas.

I expected him to not judge an individual based upon their sexuality and to treat them with kindness regardless if they are a sinner or not. Kind of what Jesus did. But I mean lets face it...the Catholic church hasn't really followed Jesus's example since...ever.

lol ...well stated.

I don't know if I at all agree with the decision to flat out reject the ambassador, but on the other hand, I think the French displayed a great deal of intent ignorance by sending a gay ambassador, considering the target country in question. What did they expect, really? The cultural ignorance of sending a gay ambassador to the main christian stronghold pretty much parallels the ignorance of them rejecting the said ambassador.

Excuse me?

Thanks, Servant, for starting another thread for people to bash the Church in. As if there's not enough of this on here. No wonder why other Catholics barely post on this site.

I look at it as a 'meet us half way' sort of affair. If the Church and its leadership stop making terrible decisions then we'll stop calling them out on it. Does that sound fair?

P.S. Your persecution complex is showing.

Dear fellow Religionists, the Church should be free to go against Homosexuality.

But the irony is priests raping 11years old boys. Isnt that also homosexuality?

Rape of girls and boys is very wrong, Jumi!

Agreed, particularly vile men who have sex with children under the age of 12. Those disgusting predators are unfortunately very well-represented in certain Abrahamic religions. Child marriage in particular.

I think the French are getting exactly what they expected. The public discomfort of the hypocrites who own the Vatican.
The French government is rather aristocratic. True aristocrats are never rude, unintentionally.

Hmm, so you say they did it while anticipating this outcome? That would be quite interesting, if it were so.

Why do u expect Pope Francis to throw away the Bible?

Since they are supposed to represent the Bible's teachings, shouldn't they exemplify it?

Romans 2:1 You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
(Or some variation of that, depending on your translation.)

If they want to represent the Bible's teachings, shouldn't they be leaving judging sin up to God?
If they don't then I'd expect them to reject any ambassador who is divorced or fat or lazy or who lies or insert every other sin that is conveniently ignored (by some) in favor of homosexuality.

Pope Francis is a sad old bigot. It didn't take him very long to show his and his church's true colors.

It seems that the french nomination is in the hands of bureaucrats at the Vatican. Pope Francis has nothing to do with the process of selection, I think. We all know that there are still dinosaurs administrating the Vaticans so all traces of the old thinking won't go away that easily.

Pope Francis may be preaching a message of acceptance towards gay people but that doesn't mean everyone in the Church agree with him. I am afraid the matter of the french ambassador has gotten out of hands though, the media seized the story and if the Pope feels that his credbility is undermined he'll probably have to intervene directly in the dossier.

Vatican suspected of rejecting gay French ambassador | World news | The Guardian

Vatican city should be respected in their freedom to reject homosexual amb.
What do you think the purpose of an ambassador is?

How do you think the Cold War would have played out if the United States had insisted that any Soviet ambassadors couldn't be communists?
Pretending? Vatican City is a state.
Vatican City meets none of the normal criteria for statehood. It's ridiculous to pretend that a few blocks of Rome that doesn't have a native population and can't even handle its own sewage are sovereign nation. It's just a puffed-up church estate.

My federal government has diplomatic relations with only one religious organization: the Catholic Church. My provincial government funds only one denomination's religious schools with my tax dollars: the Catholic Church.

Like it or not, your religion is my business... and it will continue to be so until your church stops imposing itself on me.

@Leftimies : Are you truly saying that you see some reason for France to take pains not to propose a homosexual as Ambassador to Vatican?

Or, for that matter, that Vatican has any reason not to accept one on grounds of homosexuality?

Sorry, but I hope you are kidding.
