Video: Texas judge allegedly beating 16 YO daughter

Yes, you are missing the fact that this is mentally unhinged, damaging, psychotic behavior and qualifies as child abuse.
It's redundant, at best. It's not child abuse, however.
Try this: Walk up to somebody in your office, start shouting a stream of obscenities at them and hit them repeatedly with your belt and see what happens.
Try this: Make sense within the context of whatever post you're trying to use an analogy for, hero.

If someone in my office intentionally does something I tell them not to, the least of their problems will be obscenities.

You're doing that thing abused people often do: "Meh - my dad treated me like that and I feel pretty much OK most of the time, so it's probably OK". It isn't OK. How can you know how you would feel if you weren't beaten as a child? Leave it to the psychologists to determine what is or isn't good parenting, please.
I know how it feels because I'm 33 years old, and at that age when my father told me not to do something I didn't do it. Would you like to take a guess as to why I didn't do it?

I didn't watch it. The photos and the description were more than enough to convey everything I need to know about what was happening there. The man is sick.
Unbelievable.

Spanking your child with a doubled up leather belt isn't child abuse. Sorry gang.

Yes it is.. Hitting an adult will get you arrested for assault.. Hitting a person half your size and weight ought to get you arrested for assault.. When I was growing up it was common for parents to hit their children with anything they had handy and it was acceptable for the time, but it is not now.

It is child abuse, and it damages children..

Unf_cking believable.

You didn't do it because you were afraid your deranged, psycho father would beat the tar out of you, that's why. And you've convinced yourself there's nothing wrong with it because you are subconsciously afraid even now - as an ostensibly grown man - to disrespect your deranged, psycho father.

I was hit with a belt as a child for several minutes but what is seen in that video (I only watched the first couple of minutes, when the mother started in, I couldn't take it anymore)was infinitely worse. He wasn't just spanking her, he was beating her hard enough to leave marks that could probably last for days. That, to me, is serious child abuse.

Is that supposed to make me upset?
I do want to thank you, though.

Because spanking your child with a belt this way isn't child abuse.
I'm leaving for my morning walk, later.

Assuming you're still serious, and not a troll, I want to reiterate how sad your view is, and how glad I am that people with views like yours are dwindling. It's good to see that you're the only one on the thread expressing this outdated, ridiculous, harmful view.

16 year old girls are easy to punish.

Give me your cellphone and car keys please.

Let me see this computer for a minute, it's locked now.

Clean your room and bath room and get back to me when your done.

Oh, did I mention your grounded? How long is all up to you.

Spanking a 16 year old is assinine.

Exactly.

The whole video was disturbing, and clearly child abuse, both physical and emotional. That judge is nothing but an angry bully who needs to spend some time in jail. Perhaps being on the receiving end of a bully in jail would humble this guy.

Hi Manfred
Why do you not see it as child abuse?

He already answered this in a roundabout way - his own father treated him this way. It's often the case that abused children grow up ready and willing to make excuses for child abusers. They've had a lifetime of practice.

If that didn't work the first time, what makes you think this one will be any different?

If it upsets you that much, then walk away.
Simple enough? :)

What a horrible piece of ****.

I didn't even "watch the video" I skipped into the middle of it, and put the tab in the background. the sound was enough. what he said, and the way he said it - there is no excuse.

if I was physically near and knew this family, I would be on my way right now to rip out his arm and beat him into an inch of his life with it.

then rip out the other arm to make sure.

then go to the police and brag about it.

of course he apologized. he's a sociopath scumbag piece of trash. BAH. if I was actually aware of all that happens in the world around me, I would be on a neverending murder spree, like that scene in braveheart where that dude wakes up to mel gibson on a horse with a mace in his hand. now THAT'd be justice, "judge".

*deep breath*

I think I'll have a shower now. I feel physically sick. but why sugarcoat how I feel in the moment I'm exposed to it.. it's like those youtube videos of others watching youtube videos, only with text.

god help my soul.. at this very moment, I'd love to see a snuff video with that guy. *shivers*

did you watch the video? that is how you describe it?

he's brutalizing her so she's "obedient". he and the mother, they're sadistic pigs and the sooner they're put down, the sooner life can return to the planet. amen.

it is EXACTLY the other way around.

if it upsets one that much, one observes very carefully, and offers protection to the victims and "proper recompensation" to the perpetrators.

online, one vehemently calls it.

simple indeed.

My comment was directed at that particular member's disgust of my posts in this thread, and only this thread. It's nothing to do with the literal video.

Your willful ignorance is cute, though.
