I thought Iran was Trump's major problem? Last I heard, Iran was given more nukes by Obama. Israel needs to be protected!!! Why is Trump not talking about Iran and the Obama Iran Deal?
Probably right now its not worth talking about ?.

This isn't what he said!

The world is full of threats. To the USA, North Korea is one. But a tiny one. It is a bigger threat to China. Millions of hungry people are living on China's border. They are the one's with the real problems should North Korea become the sort of failed state that the USA has created around the mid-east, such as Iraq and Libya and are on our way to creating in Syria and Afghanistan.

The moral to the story is "Don't break another country when you haven't fixed the previous disasters yet and don't appear able to do so "

being nice I will just say: Guess you had better check your facts hadn't you.

North Korea isn't a threat. Whoever tells you that is most likely going to be a republican. We don't have to do anything. And we shouldn't. Because NK isn't a threat to America. I'm seeing a lot of hawks here who claim to hate hawks.

NK is the JVteam just like ISIL. America's defenses are too strong to worry about ICBMs.
Just as I suspected you don't know the reason why North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25 1950. Hence the above answer to my question.
Suggest you study history before you make statement.

I don't live in the past. We have a different world these days. But I understand why you made the comparison. I'm sure it's in RW medialand. I'm just bored to look.

It's not relevant. So now you're suggesting the US should militarily attack NK to protect SK? Is that what you're saying now?

Oh but it is very relevant. Of course I understand why you wouldn't think so after reading some of your numerous posts.
Past history can and very possibly predict the actions in the future, especially in the case of North Korea. But I understand why you don't understand and I understand why you don't want to increase your knowledge.
Have a nice day.

Yes, NK is harmless. You have to understand that the republicans are conrolled by the MIC. Lockheed, Boeing, Military equipment manufacturers, greedy corporations that rely on our tax dollars for their profits. War = booming business at profits at the expense of veterans and American lives.

Which is why this is typical for republican administrations. The president is being advised by people lobbied by these MIC corporations. These corporations, like others lobbying republicans (Big Oil, Big Pharma) are in it for the money. The reason they buy up the law makers in congress is to enhance their profits.

That's all there is to it. It's pretty obvious to me. Yes, it's true that RW media and the republicans in congress are using tax dollars to profit off of. Don't get me started about overpaying for everything. These people are crooks and greed filled organizations. In order to drain the swamp, you have to vote them out. Not keep voting for them because you'd prefer the swamp over a democrat.
I'm inclined to treat NK as harmless.
But your certainty of that, & blaming the MIC is ludicrous.
Have you ever worked in the MIC?
It ain't what you believe.

The potential danger posed by NK should be addressed.
I prefer that it be done by persuasion, with China & Russia involved.

You expect us to believe that those who provide everything from munitions to chow halls in foreign fields do not benefit from beating the war drums?

I agree with that. Escalating the situation with threats isn't likely to produce positive results.

Finally....a little detente!

The MIC is completely responsible for the decisions being made in congress/presidency. All the 'advisors' Trump hires are pushing him for war. They do this because they are lobbied by the MIC corporations. These corporations work with government to get us tax payers to pay 10x the cost of something. Now I hear they only have half the submarines.

You guys will soon learn that these war games are all about the $$. The NRA does the same thing with ammo/weapons. They are lobbied by corporations and the NRA is the mouthpiece. The NRA will scare people with propaganda so they vote a certain way, purchase ammo, purchase more weapons, etc.

It's all intertwined.

You make the claims, but where's the evidence?
Which company paid which Congressman to vote for war?
The NRA doesn't even make money from war.

I say the left created this boogeyman to evade personal responsibility for war.
They stopped protesting the wars as soon as they became Obama's.
They re-elected him after he ditched his campaign promise to get out of the wars.
Similarly, Bush was re-elected while pursuing 2 wars.
And now, war with N Korea is a popular idea.
Politicians do what keeps them in office.....& war serves that purpose.
This is the superior explanation because its evidenced, fits the data, & has predictive value.

Boeing, Lockheed and corporations involved with all the cylinders of war. You think trillion $ corporations don't lobby people in congress?
Why is it so hard to understand that corporations rely on big government for massive profits?

The NRA makes money off weapons and ammunition sales. They're more domestic and not involved much with war. But they'll sure be there with the propaganda pushing for the wars.

Do you think that was what I said?

So you agree they beat the war drums, but don't think they are to blame for war mongering?

Obama did attempt to get us out. But he received a dose of reality on setting foot in the white house. And it wasn't like he didn't try. He was fighting generals to get as many men out as possible all while being harassed by the right for pulling out too soon. And your solution is to vote in another republican, but this time one with a superiority complex and some mental issues. Great idea!

To be "involved" is not to be in control.
You speak of how it's possible for them to influence leadership to war, but you present no evidenced argument.

This is still tin foil hat conspiracy theory territory.

When I worked in aerospace (military), it was very difficult to get government to
cooperate with sales approvals. If companies really had that much control, gov
wouldn't have erected so many barriers to doing business, especially overseas.
The biggest lobby problem I saw was Congressmen who steered contracts to
businesses in their own states, to the detriment of our defense needs, eg, the
A9 v A10 competition, the F18 prime contractor sourcing.

No.
That responsibility lies with the voters & the leaders they elect to pursue war.

He was in charge of those generals, & could've given them orders to end the wars.
He chose not to.
His weakness & poor judgement cannot be blamed on "being harassed by the right".

My solution is to vote in a Libertarian
But that solution has yet to present itself as a viable alternative.
So it's the old lesser of 2 evils situation.

However if any direct threat to the US I guess one has to rethink their stance.

This is a good point...

Does anyone actually feel like there is a direct & imminent threat to our national sovereignty?

We used the imminent danger argument to start a war in Iraq that still hasn't ended. It seems odd to me that we would use this same strategy to justify bombing another nation when we're literally still dealing with the faulty reasoning of the first one.
