But I do understand how, when one feels down, one finds it hard to summon the energy to break out of it. I have a policy now of "striking while the iron is lukewarm"
. When I have got off my arse to do one thing, I often find I have a bit more energy for a while and I try to harness that to get something else done too, preferably something that involves some tradesman coming to the house to do stuff, so I can't procrastinate once a date is fixed. I'm on a roll at present, having just had a new central heating boiler installed. I've had to arrange for a guy to come and repair the bricks, where they made a hole for the new flue, and so I've asked him to repoint the front of the house as well - a job I was putting off. And I had new double-glazed windows put in the front room a couple of months ago, and when the guy came to paint them I asked hm to redecorate the room as well, as it has needed it for years. So now that's booked in and I can't wriggle out of it. It will be disruption for several weeks, but it's coming down the track now and will finally get done at at last.
