How are you finding "Ar Tonelico II", Cardero?

I am sort of on video game hiatus. No watching movies or playing video games until the 2009/2010 Mod Squad season is over. Since June I have been trying to get two episodes under my belt by the month of September. I want to stay ahead of the schedule so I can spend as much time on the artwork as I can.

cardero responded: Sure, rub my face in it! Did you get the soundtrack?
That is why when you wrote about how great the experience was I had to pipe in. I did listen to the soundtrack but I cannot commit to starting any new console games right now, my focus has to be on the new Mod Squad comic.

I am trying to finish up Final Fantasy; Crystal Chronicles (GameCube) with mrscardero but this has to be played on our days off which only amounts to about 18 hours a month (we are close to the end and it will probably take the next 18 hours to finish). We have a few other two player experiences lined up (Gauntlet: Legends (PS1), Hunter: The Reckoning (GameCube) Little Big Planet for the PS3) but I will probably discourage this in favor of her concentrating on the comic. She has just as much on her plate as I do learning and mastering Adobe Photoshop and utilizing the new Wacom Drawing Tablet.

Surprisingly, my father has also expressed an interest in continuing the Medal of Honor series box set that I gave him but that only amounts to about one visit a month. After the ordeal of practically walking him through Medal of Honor; Rising Sun, I can assure you that this interest is one-sided. I am wishful that accompanying him through the other two games will offer my father the ability to master the PS2 analog control so that he can accomplish other FPS by himself but that interest and ability should prompt him to practice on the single player experience and not to rely on Rizza as a seeing-eye dog (we both suspect there is problems with his eye sight).

RF member Ralph C. has also expressed an interest in the Lego Batman series and I tried to get mrscardero to go through the series with him but I guess it will be my responsibility to see it through. This also amounts to one visit a month but can you imagine? RF member Ralph C solving and accomplishing his first video game, the possibilities abound!

And if all this doesn’t convince you that I am on video game hiatus, I have gone portable, designating most of my video gaming to DragonQuest IV on the Nintendo DS which I play for an hour a day in closets and bathrooms when no one is looking. The opportunity to go portable allows me to keep my foot in the video gaming door, to keep my mind occupied on those long car trips (to my father’s house) or those moments where I find myself waiting (like at Newburgh Park Motors when my car is getting an oil change).

But Ar Tonelico II; Melody Of MetaFalica? I’m probably looking at February/March of 2010 to be able to give this experience my full attention (and it’s killing me).

Well, I've currently gotten almost fifty hours in through the game, have nearly reached the end of the game, and will play through it again (another fifty hours) to be able to get three of the four alternate endings, as well as get all of the items I missed.

*finishes shaking salt onto Cardero*

I turned my 360 on for the first time in about a month, with no XBL gold membership, no Internet(right now), and a down graded TV(in which the picture sucks). I remembered why I haven't been playing it.
Still playing between FFT, Breath of Fire 3 and some other games.

Downgraded TV? How big?
I'm playing MGS4 on a 14" TV. :D

I've heard 360s aren't as interesting without internet and online gaming, it's supposed to be great isn't it? I've never had the privilege of playing one, especially not online. :D

Well we had a nice big flat screen TV in the living room but my mom took it to her room and get an older one(can't think of size of the top of my head). But no High Def. sucks now. And yeah 360 is way better online playing with people, I miss playing Gear of War 2 with friends online.

Aw man, that sucks!
I've never been able to play on a HD TV. I want to, but as you can probably guess I'm currently living in the Stone Age. :D

I'm having a bit of a nostalgia run playing Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for SNES. It may be one of the worst of the classic FFs (though FF2 for NES is still worse), it's still a good game. No random encounters, small parties, equipment is almost all found (and you're automatically equipped with your best armor). Good game.

Believe me, 360 Oblivion looks better without HD.

I got the new Wii Sports Resort. Pretty fun. The new controller is a lot more sensitive. Can't wait to get Tiger Woods 2010.

Been chipping away at Resident Evil 4.

Just downloaded Dune II for PC. Considering how old it is, it's quite a good strategy game, even if it is quite slow.

Against my better standards and reasons of never paying full price for a new release video game, mrscardero bought me Batman; Arkham Asylum (PS3) and now she expects me to play it-and well...you can see my dilemma.

I have checked the demo only, but at least I thought the graphics were enjoyable.. :)

IGN gave it 9+ (out of 10), it is GameInformer's "Game Of The Month" and it is being hailed as the truest Batman experience in all of gaming history. One review exclaimed it was the next Bioshock. I smell a franchise and it would be interesting to see where this goes.

Dude, Arkham Asylum is worth playing simply for the fact that Mark Hamill is back in his role as the Joker, and Arleen Sorkin is also returning as Harley Quinn. (Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy the game... :( )

Working on a multi-segment speedrun of Pokemon Red. I just reached Cinnabar Island and I'm ahead of my competition (though with more segments, so with standard penalties I'm not doing so well), but it's all uphill from here. Victory Road is gonna suck.

A speedrun of a gameboy game?

What's with the "standard penalties"?

Oh, and I've found for the GBA games that you can do a run with just your starter pokemon, and complete the game in under fifteen hours.
