What came before the Big Bang?

Thou art That
Time does not exist.
I do.

Problem solved! If time does not exist, and you do, then you cannot die, because you can only die in time. So worry not about getting trapped alive in a dark grave, screaming in bloody terror at the top of your lungs only for no one to hear you.

Your worst fears dissolved away by Dr. godnotgod.

Now go have a lollipop, and quit your fussin' around.

Well...you're finally catching on!

'YOU' are stuck in your body.....same for me.

I hope to be allowed to continue.....not my call to make.....
THAT belongs to heaven.

Maybe they will let you out of your body.....maybe they won't
YOU did not put 'you' in that body....
YOU cannot get out whenever you want.

good luck.

Consciousness releases the body and the ego at death, with "I" persisting in its pretentious drama of the 'Big Act', :faint::clap even to the very end. Consciousness goes on, but the scene for the character and its props are finis. In some extreme cases, "I" imagines itself 'standing up from the dust' or spending an eternity buried alive in some forgotten grave. In reality, such a person has only managed to get himself into.....

No wonder you're having trouble getting thru this thread!

Consciousness does not release the body.
The body will hold 'you' until it can't.
THEN 'you' can release from the body....if it is allowed.

Good luck.

Consciousness is self-evident, but where is this 'you' which the body holds, and how can the material body 'hold' the non-material 'you'?

It is mind and consciousness which direct the body, and not the other way around.

'You' start typing, and no sooner do you reach the first comma, you lose it.

Take the post 'you' just made...keep that first portion and try again.

You can't even locate the "I" you claim exists, and you want to point in my direction. Until you can deliver the goods, you are, I am afraid, still under house arrest and in....

Boy....two of them arguing through about 20% of the threads, one on one.
Like two boys, wait.......boys or girls ???? we don't really know, do we ?
Well................like two cats one upon the other, claws out and slashing.
It is entertaining I will add, go for it my cohorts, boy or girl or whatever !

Motion....silly.
Motion is real enough.
Time is only a cognitive device....in your head.

'You' know it's true.....'I' said so.

Flowing water is in motion, yet is not an "I". Your body is in motion, but is your body "I"? In fact, everything in your body is in motion, so where is this elusive "I" you think you are pointing to, and who, or what, is doing the pointing? If you catch this "I" by the tail, then there will be two "I"s, I suppose.

Even if you did find such an animal, it would necessarily exist in time, which you say does not exist, and therefore neither would "I".

All that you will find are the traces of past experience, and those traces are dead. The "I" that stands for them is a has-been, a corpse dragged around by your ego.

Case closed.

Checkmate.

The case is not closed.....mate.

And 'you' will drag that corpse of yours for as long as it breathes.

After it stops Someone else will take a look to see what stands from the dust.

(in your 'case'.....maybe there won't be anything to stand up!)

NOW we may close the box....and put the box in the ground.
Grave closed.

Where is this "I" that stands from the dust? You cannot produce him because he is a hallucination; a fantasy you love to entertain because you are terrified that you won't go on after death. You won't, but that's a good thing. Why contaminate the future with the toxic residue of the past? We like it fresh and clear in the afterlife. No dirty skeletons to muck things up. As Jesus said: "It is finished!". And so it is.

Next Scene!

(No, not that one! That was the last scene with Thief under house arrest and in......

Checkmate!) :banghead3

Keep banging your head.
And you keep asking the wrong question....where?
It's not where......it's whom?

'I' think 'you' are on the edge of your life and not aware the pending fall.

Next scene.....descent into the bottomless pit.

That's neat........."a bottomless pit"
I guess one doesn't have to worry about getting to the bottom then !
Just a long string of people falling and falling....and falling...and no splat.
Where's the devil in this scenario, with fork in hand.
Kinda neat I think !

IT'S FOR REAL!
Your typical black hole (the outer space kind) has no bottom.
so to speak.

hey Thief,
Neat twist there.
You know, don't you, that black holes have vents, they digest and then they expel.
Interesting how a lot of people, I'm one, refer to black holes as 'they' ?
Energy and matter in, plasma out, and eventually new entities, a rebirth so to speak.
Creation after creation, kinda like heaven, or pits.
Nothing is ever destroyed, except for the concept of 'time'.

Nice counter....but I don't suggest you follow thru in that direction.

Suskind insisted information cannot be lost in black holes.
Hawkins finally conceded after thirty years of dispute.
I think H. was just tired of hearing it.

Still, either way, not much to recognize after the crunch!

"After the 'crunch'..."
Kinda like the rebirth, being reborn so to speak.
Now I'm twisting ! Goes around and comes around.
~
As to the crunch again, it has never stopped, it going and coming continually.
Since the first 'creation', into the next 'bang', and into the next crunch.
Around and around it goes, trying to find the bush it came from.
