What do Christians really think about the Qur'an

Not sure what you mean. I was programed by the christians all my life and was a hard bible thumber and still am. When I read the bible I hear the voice of GOD. It is His Word, but much of its Truth is being lost in this world, just as it was planned to be that way. The Truth is far from what the christian churches are teaching about Jesus. The Qur'an has the same voice of GOD, it is His Word and a warning for and to the christians that they have gone astray with understanding the relationship between Jesus and the Word of GOD.

GOD = HIS WORD and HIS SPIRT

Jesus is the Messiah. GOD instructs us through His WORD and His SPIRIT, and He shows us Himself through His creation, which is all the natural wonders of this universe. Jesus is how GOD gave the first part and the second part of His WORD to humanity. The third and final part of GODs WORD was given out by Muhammad. But just as the jews refuse the Gospel, the christians refuse the Qur'an, but the muslims are falling astray also. They are falling into the same trap. They idolize Muhammad, just as the christian idolize Muhammad, as the jews idolized their heritage of Abraham.

All three of the Abrahamic religions have gone astray. What can GOD do or show these people that will ever let them find Him. Praise be to the naturalist who can find GOD by observing only the handiwork of His universe. Or lucky for the non-beleivers who have not chosen any god, for their tanks are still full because they have not spent unwisely to buy into false gospels.

As you are making difference between WORD and WORLD in the post, I can understand your position towards spirituality.

Yes! What can GOD do or show these people that will ever let them find Him, But! don't think that the knowledge you have collected till now is totally compleate.

It is very easy to talk about "WORD", But none has truly REALIZED it, or truely feeled or observed what is WORD,

Anyhow, you are lucky that you have reached upto this, just as it was planned to be that way.

So, MathewJames ji truely feeled very nice to meet you and reading your Post.

Before I ever read the Qur'an I was taught that it was the work of the devil by many christian religions. It seams that the majority of christians see the Qur'an as being a negative or bad book. Do any christians thing the Qur'an is part of scripture or do they mostly think it is an evil book.

MathewJames,
Christians do not rate the Koran at all. The Koran is not inspired by God so it is just another book. John warned us about inspiration, that does not come from God, 1John 4:1-3. The Bible mentions books that are wearisome to read, Ecc 12:12.
Paul, the foremost of all the Apostles, wrote about other teachings. Notice what Paul wrote at Gal 1:6-9. Paul says that if anyone comes preaching a Gospel other than the one that the Apostles taught, let them be accursed.
Paul also wrote that there is no need of any other book or teaching , because All Scripture in the Bible is inspired by God and is good for teaching, for setting things straight, and for doctrine, that the man of God is COMPLETELY EQUIPPED for every good work. Nothing more is needed, and God warns about adding to His word, or taking away from His word, Rev 22:18. Anyone writing anything different than God's word will be proved to be a lier, Prov 30:5,6. Something very bad is in store for liers, Ps 5:6, Rev 21:8, 22:15.

You're very creative, to say the least, in how you interpret the Bible. I have never read the Qur'an myself, but no where in the Bible did God say He was through talking and would never have anything to say again. You are, in effect, doing nothing more than insisting that if God were to speak to us again, you'd refuse to listen to Him.

You should do some research on how the Bible was formed. I think it would show that you're off base here, especially because technically, the verses you are quoting would actually label many book of the NT as not coming from God.

MathewJames,

As the two previous posts explain very nicely.

GOD finishing His WORD, or giving humankind the third part of a three part book, is much different than humankind adding to His WORD.

You seem to be thinking of the bible as one book. Although I believe that we have been conditioned to see it that way it can be a huge mistake.

God finishing his word? Part 3? How can this be when the Quran is contradictory to the bible? Mohammed doesnt even understand the concept of the Son Of God. I wouldnt catergorically say but I think Mohammed was decieved by that naughty Angel.

The Qur'an and the Bible agree with each other, as I read them.

I understand the concept of the 'Son of God' as the 'Desire of all Nations".

Jesus fullfilled and delivered the Bible (first two parts) and Muhammad devlivered the Qur'an. They are the Two Witnesses (Bible & Qur'an) and together they are the complete WORD of GOD.

God finishing his word? Part 3? How can this be when the Quran is contradictory to the bible?

Actually it only contradicts certain accounts as told in the 4 gospels by non-eyewitnesses to unknown authors.

Mohammed doesnt even understand the concept of the Son Of God.

Actually the Muslim understanding of "son of God" is the same as the Jews. Remember, Yeshua was a Jew so his own understanding of the "son of God" is not the same as was applied by early church fathers.

That is what I used to think until I read it and comapared it with the Bible.

No doubt the Qur'an and the Bible are the two witnesses for GOD.

are you refering to the two witnesses of Revelation? If so, what is the reasoning behind attributing the bible and quran as the witnesses?

Rev 11:3 And I will cause my two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days dressed in sackcloth.

The Qur'an or Koran contains many contents similarities to the Bible, which gives the idea that it was derived somehow from the Bible.
Does this mean that because there are similarities in the Bible from previous works that the Bible was derived somehow from those older works?

The Bible however is the oldest book ever been written,
This is just not true:
Online Degree The 10 Oldest Books Known to Man
HowStuffWorks "What is the oldest book in the world?"

and even though there is some confusion and even some controversy over which book is the oldest, the Bible is not even in the runnings:
Answers.com - What is the oldest book

the Qur'an isn't that old.
Since when does age determine accuracy?

Another interesting point is that the Qur'an contains several points were it invites the reader to consult the Bible.
And?
The Bible contains several points where it tells the reader to refer to writing that are not in the Bible.
So what?

All in all a true Christian respects people from all backgrounds.

I agree.

The Bible, The Qur'an and Science

--sura 21, verse 30:
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then We clove them asunder and We got every living thing out of the water. Will they then not believe?"

"ancient and ignorant men" taking a lucky guess stab in the dark...and getting it right- over and over and over again.

"In view of the level of knowledge in Muhammad's day, it is inconceivable that many of the statements In the Qur'an which are connected with science could have been the work of a man. It is, moreover, perfectly legitimate, not only to regard the Qur'an as the expression of a Revelation, but also to award it a very special place, on account of the guarantee of authenticity it provides and the presence in it of scientific statements which, when studied today, appear as a challenge to explanation in human terms. " Dr. Maurice Bucaille (At the time a non Muslim...subsequent to his scientific examination of the Quran he converted to Islam)

Its never a good idea to take a book of faith and puport it to be a book of facts which of course it can never be.
