What do you think of Trump?

If you were to sum up what your thoughts about Trump are, what would you say? People aren't going to like me for saying this but I pray for him more than I pray for any other person. I believe He was destined to be the 45th President of the United States. He came out of nowhere politically. The chances of him becoming Republican nominee were astronomically low. All sources said that Hillary would win (I was certain she would win) and then it all hit me with a shock on election day. I Pray that He does the will of the gods.

Every post on this thread gets a thumbs up for helping me better understand who this controversial figure is.

In one word, "Meh".
I just want him to shut his mouth and read a law book for reasons other than finding loopholes.
My expectations aren't that high for this dimwit, but they surely wont be met any time soon.
He won't do good by the country, not unless it's in his interests. Just like the last however many presidents.

He doesn't remain silent or go along with the party line. I think most Americans respect him for these reasons.

His leadership style reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt, except he doesn't speak softly.

I am no fan of this man, but he certainly is not a pawn of the conservative right considering how they are acting against one another.

Considering his refusal to completely sever all ties with his outside business interests, his intentional ignorance of governmental operations, his insistence that he knows how to govern better than anyone else, and all the blunders he's made in his first two weeks in office, all driven by his NPD, if you're going to pray for him I think it should be for his life. I think he's begging to be assassinated. And it just may be an inside job.

I think this has more to do with the deep rifts in their platform than Trump's own sense of principles, which seem to change faster than the weather.

I did predict there may be a possibility of Trump's final words sounding vaguely similar to "Et tu, Brute?"

To me, he's a school yard bully with an over-sized ego. I don't think he could have won the election had he been running against anyone other than Hillary Clinton. Why we Americans chose to have saddled ourselves with those two candidates is beyond me.

Actually he has been kicking around the idea of running for President since 2000 as far as I know, maybe earlier.

He was active in the birther movement and got blasted by Obama back in 2011.

No they weren't, and remember statistical polls are actually an approximation. There was no chance involved in the election, people selected who they wanted to vote for; they did not roll a die to pick their president (at least most didn't). That means the true proportion of people that voted Trump already existed in the population, the polls just didn't measure that proportion correctly. Trump had a very good "chance" of winning (obviously as he won) people just didn't see it.

I hope he does the will of the people. The problem with running a nation like a theocracy is that no one actually knows the will of the gods.

I think it's pretty close to impossible that he will ever become "the anointed one," but I'll go along with the idea that he desperately needs our prayers. May Heaven help him!
