What flavor Christian are YOU?

The flavor of blood.... (and red hots :p )
with a swirl of death,
and a sprinkling of life (reserved for the elite).

Maybe... the "salvation & sacrifice" special?

Have I got that right?

Speaking about blood, sacrifice, and salvation....

Hebrews 10
Christ's Sacrifice Once for All

For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said,
“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”

When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
“This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,”

then he adds,
“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

No, I actually mean the good men and women who give graciously of their time
to make sure RF does not become a den of proselytizing trolls.

Taste and See their goodness if you can.

No one is good but God alone, according to the Real Jesus.

And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. - The Real Jesus recorded in the book of Mark

Many of us that were raised Christian, upon reaching the age of maturity, found ourselves furious with the idea that we were being taught "lies" for all of our childhood lives. While meant in jest, my comment is also a deep reflection of what I feel about myself.

When I renounced Christianity, did that mean I was embracing a life of sin? Don't I owe at least something to my parents for bringing me up within the church? And how could I possibly denigrate to my own birthright, especially if it means I'm insulting my own ancestors?

I believe in life, love, friendship, and the future. The difference between me and most Christians is that I believe you can find all of those things under any rock you turn over, as long as you know what to look for.

Christians seem to think you need the Bible for that. My happiness is not defined by any scriptures. I enjoy life, and I enjoy drugs of my choosing (which happen to include alcohol), not because they are evil, but because they are part of the human condition.

If Jesus turned water to wine, then how could a Christian condemn it as evil?

Don't get me wrong. Abusing any substance is a terrible thing. But it's not the substance that is evil. Drowning yourself in the scriptures is just as awful. No matter what you claim to believe or how you were raised, one thing remains true. Life is far more interesting when you live it, instead of running away from it.

Soooo... Methodist with a slice of lime.

I was turned away from the Church at a young age as well. The preacher would get up there and talk so fast I never understood a single word he said, jumping up and down, screaming, red in the face, haha I was totally baffled as to how anyone could understand that fool to begin with. Bedlam if you keep searching for the Truth of Gods word you will find it. Stop listening to men was a good start. Just like I did. It may take you 50 years or 5 mins. You never know. I believe it is up to each individual to find their own path in life. And for people to only follow what another man says instead of following their hearts is a grave sin in itself.

But what is your flavor then honey?

"heavenly heart hash" maybe?

Sojourner,

You glossed over my direct question to you which would clarify things. It almost seems that you believe in a works righteous gospel.

Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
For God So Loved the World

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” - John 3

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” - Jesus

I Am the Bread of Life

22 On the next day the crowd that remained on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone. 23 Other boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” 26 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. 27 Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” 28 Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” 30 So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” 32 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” - John 6
No, I answered you here:
Wrong. What we believe has a great deal to do with how we react to life.
But: Jesus never said, "Believe these things about me." Jesus did say, "Do what I do."

I know, and I would love to join you in that wine now.:flirt:
*sighs*
The threads gone sour for me.
The aroma dry.

How about a nice fruity blend then?

Afterwards, I may just ride off into the sunset of my own personal vineyard,
in a Majik ice-cream truck.... :rainbow1: (with wings and wheels and eyes all around)

The question is... who's wine will you drink? Should you drink the poor wine or the good wine?

The Wedding at Cana

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days. - John 2

You're confused; we're not the "flavor police"---all flavors are allowed---. it's these repeated demonstrations of tastelessness we take issue with. ;)

You forgot to add (IMO). What is tastelessness to one, is flavorable to another. All flavors are allowed, but not all flavors are valid (IMO).
