What good are church teachings on Sex?

blackout

Violet.
Now, regarding my experiences with girls...that's a different story. I was quite in love with one but held back out of fear. The sex was beautiful but I felt I wasn't allowed to be truly happy, even though I wanted to be. Though I believed that sex with anyone out of marriage was wrong...the guilt factor was overwhelming when it came to my relationships and feelings with/for women. My convictions were totally the result of what I'd learned in Church.

Thank you so much for your honest and open sharing Dawny.

I think maybe you just said alot of what I couldn't find the words for.
It's the overwhelming guilt factor...
the guilt factor of WHO YOU ARE....
the guilt factor over how you would REally choose to express your sexuality,
your sensuality, your SELF...
down to your style of dress and adornment of self...
from the way you walk and carry yourself
to your innermost fantasies...

guilt
guilt
guilt
guilt
guilt

and judgementalism.

So you put an invisible chastity belt on your womanhood.
And perhaps you choose to follow through anyway?
Still there is always a reserve on your happiness,
and totality of expression and enjoyment.

It's funny how the most sexually opinionated people
are often the ones who run from the more revealing sexual discussions.

They're real quick to tell you what you shouldn't be doing in your own bedroom
and then just as quick to tell you they don't actually want to talk about it.
(and that it's "not their business")
They're also real quick to tell you that you MUST be married,
but then are the first ones to lay down all the rules regarding
who can and cannot be married.

I call them the illegitemizers.

If you don't wanna see sex in the world,
then get used to closing your eyes...
and watch the establisments and threads you enter.

Remotes, blindfolds, and side view blinders
might also come in handy while watching movies and going food shopping.

What good are church teachings on sex?..There isnt any..accept dont do it before marriage..

There is no "sex 101" or "understanding sex accordign to God" classes..Luckily there does seem to be a 'movement" at least at the Church I have been attending most recently to mention it in sermons as a "good thing" and or a "need" that we have and should give each other thats God given need..

Also the church I have attended has a book store and there are more and more Christian books available about the "joys" of sex...

But for some its possible its too late..they are already are misled into believing God just turnns a blind eye to sex while you "do it"(the nasty) and get it over with cuz we just cant help it and he wants us to have kids..Many...especially women are disgusted by sex and think its somethign only wild animals do..that is unless you want to get pregnant..I have talked to some..One woman in her 60's had not had sex with her husband in 16 years..She was in her 60's and had never had an orgasm....

Blessings

I am a devout Christian, and a virgin, and quite intune with myself. Not only emotionally but sexually as well.

I know my likes and dislikes, i understand my body's natural reaction to sexual stimulus (anyone who says they don't masturbate is a liar), and I quite look forward to sex within the bonds of God's plan.

I am not against birth control, I am not against oral or anal sex, I am not against masturbation. I simply believe that two person sex is for marriage. Masturbation is a healthy release prior to marriage.

Just because SOME Christians are prudish does not mean that we all are.

Did I say that other religions teach something different? I really have no idea what other churches teach; I can only speak from my own experience.

I think thats the point Star..

You keep saying "not in MY religion" or "in MY religion..this and that..

You are an indvidual..Not a religion..cant you speak from a personal belief?..Even if its learned in "your religion"..Or cant you refer to how you have behaved your self..rather than making it sound as if "your religion" is a person...

Im not trying to pick at you..But many religions teach abstinance before marriage and not to lie and not to kill...etc..

If I lie that just means I broke a moral law..It doesnt mean that in MY RELIGION its o.k to do so...

I am no liar.
Due to Roman Catholic church indoctrination
I was guilted out of knowing and enjoying myself physically
for 39 years.

MY church had "rules" regarding ALL of these things
and I was brought up under this indoctrination.
While I discarded much of it for a time
the guilt was ever and always there regardless.
I see now, that this was one of the most far reaching detriments of my life.
It kept me from KNOWING my self. We are TOTAL beings.
Total.

How many times did my mother tell me to be a "lady"?

But never ONCE did she encourage me to be a woman.

I simply believe that two person sex is for marriage.

And who is three person sex for? :flirt: ;)

That is your mother however, and The Roman Catholic expression of Christianity, not Christianity as a whole, or even Scripture.

Sex should be within marriage IMO. So... no one... IMO

No, I meant it seemed like you were implying that those disagree with your views on sex and marriage don't value themselves.

LOL Dallas?
Are there REALLY churches that encourage you to do the "Nasty"?

Are there christian churches that encourage "naughty" love making?
(obviously within marriage that is)
From home wife dominatrix leather on Sat night...
to church choir robes on Sun morn.... hehe

I can't even comment on the rest of your post here.
I would DEFINATELY offend people who don't want to talk about sex in any detail.

Not quite sure what you're saying. I believe the same as my religion. I am an individual, obviously, but my personal beliefs line up completely with those of my church. OTOH I've been taught to think for myself, to seek and receive my own confirmation on issues from God. It just always proves out that what I was taught works and is true.
Is that what you meant?
