What Happens When You Die?

There never was a time when they were ever separate.
You are a collection of atoms and molecules which in their present configuration is called "you". Before you became "you" these atoms and molecules were part of different configurations and after you stop being "you" these atoms and molecules will be part of other configurations. Remember that all processes in your body are continuous and that atoms and molecules constantly join and leave the configuration of atoms and molecules known as "you".

Which atoms and molecules is this "spirit" not separate from? When you eat you add new atoms and molecules to your body. Is this "spirit" already present in those atoms and molecules or does this "spirit" join these atoms and molecules as they become part of the assembly that is your body or does this "spirit" ignore them or what exactly happens?

At which point in time did this "spirit" join the chemistry? Or how and when did the chemistry produce this "spirit"?

It appears the 'point' is ....birth.
The spirit develops as we live....what we say what we do.

The chemistry fails....the spirit continues.

So it appears to me.

Interesting. Can you be more specific about what particularly happens to the configuration of atoms and molecules of the child? When is the "point"? When the contractions start, when the head comes out, when the whole body comes out? Does it happen in an instant or is it a drawn-out process?

What is developing this spirit? All particular atoms and molecules which happen to be part of this configuration in any point in time? Any specific configuration? Please be more detailed.

Please be more specific. Does this spirit consist of atoms and molecules from the body or something some specific configuration of atoms and molecules has created? How does a collection of atoms and molecules create a spirit?

As I said: there never was a time when they were ever separate to begin with.

“As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind.”
― Max Planck
*****

“Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.”
― Albert Einstein

The distinction is often made between 'spirit' and 'matter'. In reality, no such distinction actually exists, other than in the mind. Matter is form; spirit, or the Absolute, is the formless. Form emerges from, and returns to, the formless, just as ocean wave-forms emerge from and return to the formless sea.

There's is connection of spirit to body.
It's being explored at every level.

Science hasn't found it yet.

We do know when the connection fails.....it's called death.

But what you are calling 'death' is not death; it is life. When the body is no longer animated, it is being consumed and transformed by macrophages and other bacteria. That is life. We, as living creatures, consume dead organic matter in order to sustain life.

So where is 'death'?

Really? ....amother shallow question?
Care to post a definition?

Goodbye, Thief. Your shallow responses in complete denial are truly useless.

You keep hounding everyone to 'talk about God', but you can't even hold a rational discussion. I am beginning to think you are just a recording, repeating itself ad nauseum.

Could you be a little more vague? ;) What you call "body" is a collection of atoms and molecules that constantly changes, gets added to and detracted from. If you look at the cellular level non-human cells such as bacterial cells outnumber human cells ten to one. Is this spirit also connected to these cells or only human cells and what happens to the spirit when atoms, molecules and cells leave the body? Is the connection broken or what? Exactly what is connected?

artie, just take an extreme example. The atoms and molecules of my past fecal matter might be part of your body today. So, were you my fecal matter some time back?

Sorry for the extreme example. But, possibly, I have no other means to alert you to your weak thinking other than shaking you a bit. :)

The spirituality is eventually the recognition of the Seer that is all pervasive, unchanging, immutable, and distinct from the ever changing phenomena.

Even today, when there is no recognition of the Seer distinct from the phenomena, the seer cannot be rejected. Do we know that seer? Does ego self know the seer?

But that is a very good example. Is your spirit produced by your fecal matter with human dna or fecal matter without human dna or is it connected to it in some way, do you lose a part of this spirit when you evacuate or is the connection severed? Can you please explain in detail?

The answer was recorded in the next post, which you missed.

It is you who has been equating the self with the seen rather than with the seer. Once that distinction is realised then alone we can meaningfully proceed alone.

As of now, as per you, what I said applies to you.

It sure doesn't apply to any of my questions. Is there any hope at all that you one glorious day would be able to produce answers relevant to questions? I mean answers which have anything at all to do with the questions? Answers in any way connected to the questions? Or at least answers that make sense?

Precisely what science now seeks....

Two days ago a radio interview reveled the connection could last for several hours after the heart stops.

New techniques are displaying the connection of mind to body may be more persistant than previously thought!

So it may be true....as I said before....
it could well be....we follow our dust into the grave.....into eternal darkness.

There never was a time when the universe, and all that it is, has ever been separated from the Absolute. It is the Absolute which manifests the universe, just as the ocean manifests waves. But waves are still made of the same material as the ocean; water, just as we are of the same essence as the Absolute, even though we create the false idea that we are somehow separate from it.

Consciousness is non-local. The consciousness with which we are aware is not a personal consciousness. 'Personal' consciousness that we call "I" is an illusion of the mind, which is a self-created principle. This illusory, personal consciousness is called 'Identification', referred to as 'self'.

"The universe is the Absolute, as seen through the glass of Time, Space, and Causation."
Vivikenanda

You have missed atanu's point, which is that you are not composed of fecal matter, even though materials present in past fecal matter may now be part of your composition.
