What Happens When You Die?

I'm disappointed in you Thief. I know you can do better, but you are secure in just going round and round on the equator of the billiard ball.

So the question will remain until you can provide a real answer:

Where is this 'I' located you say exists? And who is it that is looking at this 'I'?

Maybe a better question is required.
You keep asking the same thing.
Who this?....who that?....

a photo of an owl would make for 'you' and better avatar.

Yes, but it cannot process you as you will be composed of over 60% synthetic substances. Instead, you will be perfectly preserved as you are for the next several billion years, and wreak of McDonald's French Fry Oil. :D

All of those damned preservatives. I bet I am 90% PVC right now!

Who, or what, is the self you call "I", that you imagine arrives and departs?

The same kind of stuff 'you' are.

So now you will make denial and claim you are nothing.

That can be believed if you don't respond.

If I wait for nothing to respond....then I will receive nothing.

If you do respond.....THERE YOU ARE!

Myself and the other 7billion souls soon to depart.

Of the 7 billion souls departing, how many will go to Paradise? Perhaps 10 or 20?

So, what kind of 'stuff' is that? kapok? poppycock? pure virgin fluff? where is it to be found, this elusive "I" that we call 'self' and 'ego' that 'stands up from dust' and even has an afterlife. What is it?

(Oh do not ask 'what is it.'...Let us go and make our visit.)

If you do respond.....THERE YOU ARE!
There is no responder; there is only response itself.

Nope. No responder of the response is to be found. You're making much too much of it. It's much simpler than you make it out to be.

I am asking a simple question of you who claims there is a self called 'I' that goes on to an afterlife: Where is this 'responder of the response'?

You must eat a lot of salad.

Actually, I've made further consideration.

It recent studies it seems the brain is far more active when we sleep.
What you are as you respond to this post .....is a mask.

YOU might not be who you think you are.

The REAL you is another person you might not be aware of.

But as always ....denial of yourself is futile.

That 'other person' is also a mask.

The real you has no face; no identity; no form; no body. There is nothing to assert nor deny.

Who is it that denies? Who is it that asserts?

Jesus in me
If that was the case, then what is the origin of evil? Would it not have had to originate from the good?

When you refer to what is 'good', are you referring to moral good, as compared to beneficial/detrimental?

I believe evil can't originate from good.

I believe it comes from free will.

I am referring to ethical good as exemplified by God.

I doubt any will but perhaps Jesus is taking early arrivals in the New Jerusalem as the day of the Lord approaches. However that does not mean that it is still in Paradise and not on its way here.

Muffled

Jesus in me
Allow me to repeat.

The Being is Consciousness. Consciousness is the Being.
I believe that leads to confusion because the mind is also conscious and that consciousness ends when the body dies. It is the super-conscious of the spirit that continues on.

Then 'evil' must have originated from God, since it was from God that the gift of free will came in the first place. IOW,' evil' is built-in.

I am referring to ethical good as exemplified by God.

Is ethical good different than moral good? Does ethical good have an opposite?

Can that be modified to say:

Being is Consciousness; Consciousness is Being.

Putting one before the other may be wrong since it is neither Consciousness nor Being but it is ineffable that gives rise to both these.

Visitor: That which rises as 'I' within us is the Self, is it not?

Sri Ramana Maharshi: No, it is the ego that rises as 'I'. That from which it arises is the Self (Atma).

First one sees the Self as objects, then one sees the Self as void, then one sees the Self as Self, only in this last there is no seeing because seeing is being.”
