Christianity doesn't have that huge of a start on it. And, I'm saying we, collectively as a species, should discard Christianity and Islam as practiced religions. The West is so far removed from "Biblical" culture that it seems a farce for anyone to call themselves Christian, and the Middle East is so into it that it's the world's epicenter for terrorism.

I believe that each religion has its time and was only ever meant for a certain age. Although the spiritual laws such as love one another are eternal, new social laws are needed for each age.

This age cannot progress using age old laws. We need fresh laws for this age.

I have. It makes no sense. I've been studying Islam for years and years. Like most non-Muslims on here who have studied it, I have come to the conclusion that it is a barbaric, intolerant, abusive system founded by a warlord who was fanatically against Jews because they rejected him.

You are fairly new to this forum. Many of the people here who are critical of Islam have put a lot of effort into studying its scripture, its laws, and its history. If we show you that @Rival is correct, will you apologize? Do you think we should accept you calling people liars? It's my understanding that Muslims are supposed to be kind to people who are genuinely trying to learn about Islam. Is calling those people liars being kind?

I think the message is clear but it depends on how each one wants to understand it.

“And, We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.” [Quran, 45: 17]

I agree that many of the messages in Islam are clear, the problem is that they are intolerant. Islam needs to be reformed to be consistent with the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR).

Muhammad, I firmly believe, was completely sinless like Christ. I find the Quran a beautiful Book that teaches only good and Muslims are good, peaceful human beings like you and I.


When Muhammad married A'isha, she was 18-19 not a child.

Events of the Quran are able to determine her age and there is no doubt she had reached maturity before she was married.

Hadiths do not overrule the Quran and the Quran states that Muhammad is an example to humanity because He was sinless. It is the Word of God and I do not dispute with God. He knows His Prophets better than you or I.

If human beings produce laws that create better functioning societies than your God, then you might want to think about it.
