The Koran preaches intolerance, war, military domination, inaccuracies and fallacies, and demands blood shed and death for a great number of things that no one should even be punished for, let alone killed. And, of course, Islam also carries the baggage of everything that is wrong with the Bible.

- "What is wrong with people? We are talking about a religion in which one of the highest aspirations of its adherents is to be killed fighting in a war. What other religion advocates chopping off hands and heads, and stoning people in the streets? What other religion advocates global war, in order to convert people? In what other religion, during religious festivals, can you see droves of the "faithful" marching the streets with AK-47's, and declaring their desire to kill and die for "God". Excuse me people....what are we missing here? How do religion and AK-47's go together?"

I've seen plenty of Islamic religious festivals - never seen them with AK47s!

I would like to see Muslims who are more critical of the lifestyle of the prophet. His practice of cutting of heads, child marriage, slavery, and pillaging and looting cities should be seen as sinful and outdated.
Why not be willing to accept that he made mistakes and be willing to criticize His behavior? I know of many Christian pastors who will be very hypercritical of the sinful outdated behavior of Moses, King David, King Solomon, and many of the prophets of the Bible.
If we see such "Prophets" as infallible people or suppress or discourage critical speech about their actions, it becomes too easy to justify that barbaric behavior.

@sovietchild Orthodox Christianity teaches that Jesus is God, Second Person of the Trinity. This is the foundation of Christianity.

Don't misunderstand me: I will just as quickly criticize the Bible and Christianity just as fast as I will Islam and the Koran. Those two religions/books have brought up thousands of years of war, severe repression, unspeakable cruelty, and have made countless lives hell. And, do recall, Luke 19 gives the order to "bring hither those who want not that I should reign over them and slay them before me." "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." If a son says "let us worship other gods," his father is supposed to cast the first stone to kill his own child: if a city says "let us worship other gods," not even the cattle are safe. There's also a good deal of sex-slavery in the Bible, and just "normal" slavery. And don't forget the infanticide.
No. The Ottoman's made some advances, but the Ottoman Caliphate was way, WAY different than anything we are seeing from today's Islamic nations, and even though the Ottoman's did have their positives, we must not forget they were slave owners, they did spread out through violent and bloody conquests, and they weren't too big into the idea of gender equality.

I heard Charlie Hebdo was about to go out of business. Because of those killings they sold millions of copies. I guess it was meant to be for them to stay in business.
12 people got killed. I don't think they count it as a positive overall.
