What is wrong with sharia law?

OK....... so to some degree you might support secular criminal laws?

If so, then to some degree you would probably accept many Sharia laws because they overlap.

In England we don't like the name Sharia-Law because many immediately think of gangs of thugs playing at vigilante, using Sharia as an excuse to bully and commit serious crimes themselves, but but I'll bet that self-righteous secular and Christian vigilante thugs could be found elsewhere.

It's vigilantes that we don't like.
How could any descent person except that barbaric law, no matter how it is presented ?.

Well, it is not A law, ONE law.
For instance, although many Europeans think that some Southern States are barbaric, they would styrongly support most of those States laws.

If you support laws against, say, robbery then you support some laws in Sharia.

Listen, we are talking about barbarism, not some law that we have the decency to obey, the low life laws of Islam are just that.......Low life, you cannot get any lower.

Don't some people want to apply sharia law in certain neighborhoods in England?
That's up to politic leaders of that country.

They could allow to minority to follow their law(Sharia),or follow commun country law.(standard law).

My father in Ukraine always have to take his cars stereo interface with him because it would get stolen according to him. Ukraine is not even on top 3 most criminal nations.
I'm lucky to still live in a country where I can forget my phone on the table, go to the toilet and come back 10 minutes later to find it there with no attempts to even unlock it. There is no sharia here.

By the way didn't you think people who listen to music have something wrong with them? What punishment should your father get?

Do you think the government should represent the people?
Sure, that's we supposed to be vote :)

If so, how can a particular religious interpretation of law possibly fulfill this ideal?
Because there is no agreement on some laws such death penalty to apostasy or adultery.(eg:unfaithful husband and wife). that's why most of countries don't apply that "doubtful law".

OK, interesting. So you wouldn't say there is a universally applicable form of sharia law?

To speak of all Muslim law as barbasism isn't exactly a civilised action, imo. There are billions of muslims out there and the vast majority are decent, civil people.

What you say and think is not too unsafe, as long as you never ever get the chance to be an international politician or diplomat.

What is wrong with sharia law? A law like that could help most criminal regions like Americas (2 continents) get back on the right track. Wouldn't you think so?

Abraham Kuiper put it this way, there are spheres of society like government, family and church and each other have a purpose and neither does each other's job well. The government has the power of the sword so to speak, the church has discipline but it's limited to limiting fellowship in the church and also limiting taking of communion, not physical discipline. I think that keeps the church more pure and helps the wheels from coming off the bus.

Limiting government, church and family to their proper spheres is better.
Sharia mixes the two too much. By the way.... there is also Sharia banking

What you say is akin to claim that I support Trump or Hitler because they sleep and bathe often, as I do.

Of course not everything in any non-satirical proposal will need to be disagreed with.

I do not welcome the attempt at obfuscation.

So if there is no universal sharia law, why would one want to enforce an imperfect interpretation?

Not used in all cases, wow how nice. From the perspective of a non-Muslim that would be like me saying 'I think people who become Muslim should be killed, but not always'

Our law isn't "eye for an eye." Our "legal retaliation" is a legal process where the plaintiff seeks compensation for damages, not to cause further destruction. We do allow for the worship of other gods, we do not mandate charity, we don't care if you work on the Sabbath, and both fornication and homosexuality are legal. We're not even much for corporal punishment for children anymore.
Interesting that orthodox Judaism views eye for eye similar to how you view it. Are you aware of what the phrase really means? It certainly doesn't mean to poke out someone's eye although it is commonly misunderstood to mean that.

Nope, no questions. But I will leave you with this: The majority of the presidents of the US are related to Royal European Bloodlines ! And hows about this - Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump are cousins.

So if you cannot abide by the law of the land then simply leave.
That's what we did. We could not stand England's outdated laws, so we founded America.
