How is that fair? There are scores of religious texts, hundreds of religions, and thousands of gods. And he expects to just know which one to pick? What kind of God? A completely fair one who makes rules and gives people a chance to obey those rules or not and then provides a penalty for those who do not.
And then there's more than one religion that threatens hell for nonbelievers, soHow is that fair? There are scores of religious texts, hundreds of religions, and thousands of gods. And he expects to just know which one to pick?
So same think some Robots followed orders, and some others disobey orders become enemies.Ok, but the robot (Sonny) was absolved of it's wrong doing because it was only a machine. It wasn't responsible for it's actions, it's creator was.
VIKI the Main Core was also only following it's program as well. VIKI was destroyed because it decided the only way to save man was to take away mans free will.
I guess the analogy would be if a jar maker makes an imperfect jar, they have a right to destroy it.
The other day I burned my finger (only slightly, nothing serious) and I was spiraled down the rabbit hole of "what if" propelled by the idea that fire and burning is probably one of the few things that elicits an instantaneous reaction from our bodies. On contact, our bodies instantly recoil due to the instantaneous and lingering pain of a burn. That got me thinking, most human animals could not inflict that kind of lingering pain on others, aside from horrid things like Napalm used during conflicts, of course. Beyond that though, what kind of a being could stand by and watch some of its supposed creations writhing in pain for more than a few short moments - let alone, eternity?
Any thoughts justifying this would be appreciated.
Agree. It's a scare tactic that is common with cons and scams.
There's this phone scam going on, where someone calls and claim to be from Microsoft support. They tell you that they've hacked your computer and to prove it, they make you go through steps to show the "Computer License ID" (which is CLSID, that stands for ClassID, and not license at all, and it happens to be the same number of all Windows computers since Windows 95 or something). And they tell you, "Look, we hacked your computer! If you don't download this software, your computer will be taken over by evil hackers!!11!!" It's scare tactics to make you believe them, download their program, and ... ooops. Their program is the actual virus that locks your computer and now you have to pay thousands of dollars to unlock it. They got you.
Hell is just the scare tactics to make you believe in the invented solution.
I believe if God didn't love you , then there would be no salvation. The burning is only one of the consequences of evil.Spot on, do as we say or you burn in hell...but god loves you
Probably the same kind of twisted and psychotic god who would create human beings in the first place.
Or not accepting Jesus.I believe if God didn't love you , then there would be no salvation. The burning is only one of the consequences of evil.
I can believe that more of some people than of God.
Or not accepting Jesus.
Indeed. Let's change that to "the same kind of twisted and psychotic people who would create god in the first place."
Good recommendation.
I believe if I ever hear of any I will let you know but at present I don't know any.
I believe it is the same thing.
Jesus saves us from sin and thereby also the consequences of it.

Robots cannot disobey and can only perform the functions they are programed/designed to perform. I wouldn't even say they can obey or disobey. They execute the code they are made to perform. So same think some Robots followed orders, and some others disobey orders become enemies.
He is a god who spent a speck of time of his immortality on something that probably hurt, but definitely wouldn't be the end of him. For a god, I would think such a thing would be comparable to when I got my tongue pierced. Sure, it really hurt, but for a minute, and then soreness for a few days, but there is none now and I would hardly call that suffering despite the fact it was one of the most painful ordeals I have been through.I believe one that was willing to suffer on the cross certainly understands what suffering is all about.
