For me, that would be last year, 2017; man, what an awful year that was.
What year was the worst for you, guys?

Real sorry to hear that, manI'd have to say 2017-2018. I've lost a lot of people from my life this past year. A lot of deaths.
For me, that would be last year, 2017; man, what an awful year that was.
What happened?
So much crap happened during that year that I don't feel comfortable discussing here.
When I was 37, I lost my business, my wife, my house, my books, my pets, etc. -- lost most everything that I either owned at the time or had built my self-identity on. In short, I lost nearly everything.
Oddly enough, it wasn't the worse year of my life. It was one of the better years because I ended up being changed for the better.
But it took me awhile to understand that.
I'm really curious on the full story. Hope you don't mind me asking. . If that's too personal then please just ignore this.
I don't know what year. It was over a decade ago.
I was a very shy, timid person lacking self esteem and confidence. Always a pessimist. Didn't feel like my life was going anywhere. I was depressed. I started seeing a therapist and she helped me with skills to better myself.
Well now... I don't remember the last time I was depressed. I'm an introvert but definitely not shy and probably am a bit over confident. I just have a strong belief that things will work out. And they usually do. . If they don't, I just brush it under the rug and move on.

2017-2018 has also been bad for me now that I think about it, because I've had to watch my country go increasingly down the drain since Trump entered office- and watch it go down the gutter on empathy, sympathy, and intelligent discourse. That certainly hasn't helped make my worse year any better.
