Oh the irony, 6 months in new Zealand and now in France for a couple of months but very interesting conversations about brexit and the eu.
A majority(I know that many on here don't believe in majorities ) see the eu sinking.
If Italy goes down and many believe it will just as I do, it may be best for Italy to at least leave the euro it will be curtains for the eu which I for one hope for but in France too there are many who think it's game over for an overall failure so I'm thinking we have a critical year for the house of cards.

Your opinion in noted and filed where it should be filled.

Brexit : noun, the undefined being negotiated for the unprepared in order to get the unspecified for the uninformed.

The PM of Luxembourg put it very succinctly ... They were in with a load of opt outs, now they want out with a load of opt ins.

Remember Italy is suffering a triple dip recession that began with the worldwide banking crisis of 2007. The uk is only just recovering from its own double dip recession. Add to that Italy's rampant corruption (worse than that in the uk) and disaster is close. However the eu is not one country but (currently) 28, Italy's economy is really quite small fry and other than the shock factor, wont have much effect on the eu.

Glad to see you back in Europe

Thanks, of course I see it differently, yes Italy is corrupt and has been struggling for a long time but the new government want out, not only that they are the voice of the people and why they were voted in.
I think we should just hold on and drag the process out, you can be sure that if Italy leaves they will pay zilch, I think we should do the same.

Even Macron wants reforms...that's what Italy wants too.

As for corruption, well...we used to have a very powerful socialist system of industrial reconstruction, that Germany destroyed in 1992...through corruption of course.

At least we don't jail patriots to defend animals.

Pay what you owe, what you agreed to pay, end of story.

Unless of course you want the opt ins then you need to pay your share of the cost of those opt ins.

We roll red carpets at patriots, like Tommy

I agree. Certainly in the north industry was making good headway. Not so much in the south

As Mussolini said: "Governing the Italians is not impossible, it is merely useless"

Robinson broke the law and the terms of his bail. And Muslims are as human as any Italian

EU is not an entity. It's the member states.
Is there a state that is refusing the idea of renegotiating UK's commitments?

My country certainly is not. Maybe Germany?

Yes the eu is an entity, it is an entity of (at present) 28 states.

Not that i know who said there was? And you seem to have moved your goalposts from treaties to commitments.

Commitment : an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.
