Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

I never said don't familiarize yourself with God's word. God himself differentiates between the two. Perhaps you should as well.
Did you notice you did not answer the question asked of you in the post you are responding to? Let me answer it for you. You cannot have faith without knowing what Gods Word says. That is the meaning of the scripture in Romans 10:17

Doesn't mean they are the same thing. They are NOT. That was my answer to your question in that post.

Thankfully I am pretty familiar with the bible. I think it is a treasure trove of information but I don't think scripture alone is a biblical principle.

You cannot have faith if you do not know Gods Word. How can you have faith in something you no nothing about? This is what Romans 10:17 is saying

That's not what I'm saying though. My point is that faith and God's word are two different entities. Sure you may need one to understand the other but that doesn't mean they are the same thing.

Maybe I should just give up. I feel very comfortable with my continuing familiarization with the Bible, and that's probably all that really matters.

Where did I say to you they are the same thing? I was only posting that faith comes from Gods Word according to the scriptures (Romans 10:17). Therefore the scriptures are the only rule of faith. That is what is true and what is not true and what we are saved by (Ephesians 2:8).

Sorry, but I disagree with the concept of sola scriptura. We're back to that point, I guess.

Faith-confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11)
No I posted I believe the bible and have faith in Gods Word. Don't you? Also doing Gods work is not the same as doing our secular work.
That is true, but if someone asks me a question about God, should I say no wait until I stop working in a few days? Or might I say ok let's talk about it, but maybe after work. And by that I don't mean wait for the Sabbath day to talk about it. Remember what Jesus said. John 5. 16So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. 17In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” 18For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God

Then you should not have any problems answering my questions. But it seems you do. If we are saved by Gods grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17) how can you have saving faith if the scriptures are not the only rule of faith?

Jesus says it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath and we worship God by believing and obeying what Gods Word says. Gods work is not the same as our work.

I have no problems answering your questions. You're adding words to the issue at hand however, and they are big words. I am not saying that understanding the bible and it's principles is not important - it certainly is, and your verses prove that bible knowledge is very important.

Then you should have no problems answering the question in the post you are quoting from based on the scriptures but I see you still have not answered it. I did not add any words to the issue. That was the original question I asked you the first time you commented on Sola Sctriptura that you are still unable to answer that is in disagreement with you.

OMG. I have answered it over and over again and I am done.

Why do you think Jesus spoke in parables?
Why is it so difficult for you to just simply answer the question posed?

I mean, if you honestly truly believed that I can not possibly understand your explanations, why do you keep offering them up?
It is rather obvious that it is not to "correct" anything, given that I will not be able to understand it no matter what you do or say, right?

Its a public forum. I never said you cannot understand anything that is written to you. Whether you choose to believe or not that is up to you. Do you know why Jesus spoke in parables?

I agree it is not possible to understand scriptures without guidance. Take the account of the Ethiopian eunuch and Philip the evangelizer. Acts 8 -
30Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
31How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Oh did you, my apologies. Perhaps I missed it. Can you please post me the link where you answered my question above your post here saying you answered it? Also if you cannot post me the link where you answered my question above to you why are you pretending that you did?

God also guides us and teaches us His Words through His Spirit if we ask Him. It is a part of Gods new covenant promise. See John 7:17; John 14:26; John 16:13 and 1 John 2:27 and Hebrews 8:11 (part of Hebrews 8:10-12).
