Who IS "The Only TRUE God"- as Jesus put it?

God spoke and the world was created... Jesus spoke and the dead were raised, the lame walked, the blind were made to see, water was made into wine, a sinful man (Peter) walked on water, and he raised himself from the dead. Do you know anyone besides God who could do such things?
Or someone with Jehovahs approval and with the aid of hte Holy Spirit

So God has only one side to him then?????? If we are created in his image etc, we all only have one side to us?....= boylicks!
Sorry do you have one side to you?
No!
Jehovah has many sides to him, have you not seen that? look at what he has created in hte universe. He has a sense of pure beauty with examples of butterflies, the stars, flowers etc. He has a humourous side - with examples of things such as the monkey as an example. He has a loving side, known by the fact that he created this beautifl world for us to enjoy.
These are some of his qualities alreadynoticeable
Plus just the feelings and emotions and things that we humans do and feel and have, it is all evidence of who God is, by allowing all these things to exist.

No he couldn't, what Levite was trying to say is that an educated Jew would never call him self G-D.
But Jesus isn't God.

I never said I have one side and I beleive that GD has many sides/parts! Couldnt understand people that cant accept or beleive that there is only one side to GD.

But Jesus isn't God.
A part/side of GD IMHO

maybe all these Gods are a conscept of our own subconscious. Maybe it is us who is communicating on a higher level to each other. We create gods, demons angels out of our own ignorance!
Subconscious communication rules.

Is it 3 Gods in 1?
God-the-Father, God-the-Son, and God-the-Ghost?

Did Jesus HAVE a God?

theMadJW,
Jesus said that the Father in heaven was his God and our God, John 20:17. Jesus said that God created him, Rev 3:14, that he lives because of the Father, John 6:57. Paul said that Jesus was the first creation of God, Col 1:15.
At John 17:3, Jesus said that it means our everlasting life taking in the knowledge of the ONLY TRUE GOD, and the one HE sent forth, Jesus Christ. Jesus said that he had made God's name known and would make it known, John 17:6,26.
The name of the Almighty God that Jesus was talking about is JEHOVAH. Today many Bible translaters have removed His name from His own inspired Holy Scriptures. The King James has retained THE NAME only four times, Ex 6:3, Isa 12:2, 26:4, Ps 83:18. The fact is; every place in the King James Bible where the titles LORD or GOD are in all capitals, the original writings had the name of God, YHWH, or JHVH, called the Tetragrammaton, four letters that was the Almighty God's Proper, or PERSONAL NAME, in Hebrew. Because of superstition about pronounsing the Holy name, the Jews stopped using the name and substituted the TITLES Lord or God.
When God inspired the writing of Genesis, about the creation of mankind God said: Let us make man in our image, Gen 1:26. God was talking to His son Jesus, who had been created untold eons before.
In order to understand exactly who the Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth and all that is in them is, let's look at a few scriptures. Ex 6:3,4,says that Jehovah is THE ALMIGHTY. There can only be ONE ALMIGHTY!!! Consider some of the things said about this God, Ps 10:16, 24:1,86:8,10, 89:6,7, 148:13, Isa 45:18, Ps 115:1-8, Jere 10:10,11.
Rev 21:1-5, tells us what God's purpose for the earth is. God Himself will tent with mankind and bring about paradise conditions on earth. Also Isaiah gives us foregleams of that paradise earth, conditions that no one on earth has ever seen except Adam and Eve, Isa 11:1-9, 35:5,6, 65:17-25.
The troubles we see on earth are the fulfillment of prophesies given by Jesus and the first century apostles. These troubles will lead to The Great Tribulation, then Armageddon. The only way we can survive these is to learn about the Almighty God, Jehovah and obey His son, Jesus Christ, John 15:10, 2Thess 1:6-9.
If we desire to live in a perfect paradise earth forever, we must learn about God and Jesus, just as Jesus stated at John 17:3.

There is good reason to conclude that Col. 1:15 was not referring to Jesus as God's First creation."

Col. 1:15, 16, RS: “He [Jesus Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth.” In what sense is Jesus Christ “the first-born of all creation”?

(1) Trinitarians say that “first-born” here means prime, most excellent, most distinguished; thus Christ would be understood to be, not part of creation, but the most distinguished in relation to those who were created. If that is so, and if the Trinity doctrine is true, why are the Father and the holy spirit not also said to be the firstborn of all creation? But the Bible applies this expression only to the Son. According to the customary meaning of “firstborn,” it indicates that Jesus is the eldest in Jehovah’s family of sons.

(2) Before Colossians 1:15, the expression “the firstborn of” occurs upwards of "30" times in the Bible, and in each instance that it is applied to living creatures the same meaning applies—the firstborn is part of the group. “The firstborn of Israel” is one of the sons of Israel; “the firstborn of Pharaoh” is one of Pharaoh’s family; “the firstborn of beast” are themselves animals. What, then, causes some to ascribe a different meaning to it at Colossians 1:15? Is it Bible usage or is it a belief to which they already hold and for which they seek proof?

ho IS "The Only TRUE God"- as Jesus put it?

"Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder." (Matthew 26:36)

Seems quite obvious that Jesus (pbuh) was worshipping his creator and sustainer, the Lord of us all. God almighty. Eloah in Hebrew, Alaha in Aramaic and Allah in Arabic. Jesus (pbuh) was submitting (muslim) his will to his creator and praying to the only one worthy of worship.

Hi:

(((( Jesus DID think of himself as God in other senses. He thought it was his right to do what only God could do, for example forgive sins and execute judgment. ))))

Not true.............

John 5:30,NLT,
30 But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me; it is not merely my own.

Jesus is God's Son and representative but he is not God Almighty.

Respectfully,

Slo.

(((( and you'll see by yourself that it is not as simple as you're saying it. ))))

I can appreciate how you feel. Why it is not simple is because people don't want to admit they may be incorrect in their belief so they try and get support by using private interpretation. Example....... The trinity doctrine is not formulated in the bible anywhere so believers of this doctrine apply private interpretation to the bible to give their belief support.

Respectfully,

Slo.

I have always seen it like this. Jesus was the word that became flesh or the part of God that became flesh. He represents the part of us that must die in order to be in fellowship with God. We must die to the flesh in order to live in the spirit. Are you your flesh or are you your spirit.Your flesh is part of you just as Jesus was a part of God. Thus we are created in God's image.Something must die naturally in order for you to sustain your natural life and the same in the spirit. They run parallel. This is MHO and thoughts anyway.

Hi: Fatima_bintu_Islam:

(((( So, you're not a supporter to the trinity doctrine?? ))))

Not even in the smallest way. It is a doctrine from men. Not from God.........

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: "Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since."—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: "The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective."—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: "Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching."—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, "The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato, fourth century B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions."—(Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. Lachâtre, Vol. 2, p. 1467.

Hi Walkntune:

(((( We must die to the flesh in order to live in the spirit. ))))

If that be true how come angels in Noah's time materialized into men, married women and then when the flood came changed back into angels and went back to heaven where God put them in prison.

Genesis 6:1-4,NLT,
1 When the human population began to grow rapidly on the earth,
2 the sons of God saw the beautiful women of the human race and took any they wanted as their wives.
3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, they will live no more than 120 years."
4 In those days, and even afterward, giants lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with human women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes mentioned in legends of old.

1 Peter 3:18-20,NLT,
18 Christ also suffered when he died for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners that he might bring us safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.
19 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison-
20 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.

What does it mean to you to pick up your cross and follow?

http://biblegateway.christianbook.com/
Romans 8:13 (King James Version)

13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Hi Walkntune:

To live after the flesh means to love pleasure'

To live after the Spirit means to Love God.

2 Timothy 3:1-4,NLT,
1 You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good.
4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

Respectfully,

Slo.
