Who were the Christians? De Santis's GOP or Martha's Vineyard plain folk?

They were dumped at the side of the road in Martha's Vineyard without telling anyone who was in a position to help them.

The residents of Martha's Vineyard only found out when the migrants got to town after walking for 3 miles.
And is that telling or what?

Not even a notification! This is playing with human lives for political gain, and DeSantis needs to wear the shame of it. I'm a fracking atheist, yet I'm a better "christian" than he or most of the rest of the governors in southern states will ever be.

Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of their own decisions.

So, a tiny taste of what the left has done to the entire southern border for more than a decade?

That's the problem, but we're going to pretend self-awareness and self-reflection aren't things I guess.

At the southern border, the people dropping migrants off in the middle of nowhere with no support are human traffickers.

If that's what you want your government representatives to be, I'm not sure how to help you.

They're human beings being used as political props. So who's really lacking self-awareness?

What would Jesus do?

If DeSantis is just moving illegals then he's not solving the problem of illegals in the USA, is he?
I don't believe he is just moving legals. And, of course, the problem of illegals is unfettered entrance, not immigration.

What the left has done? Goodness, I was unaware that the right didn't form a government in there from time to time. I mean, if they had, they'd have fixed it, right?

DeSantis sends migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, causing ‘humanitarian situation’

Donations poured in and volunteers rushed to help: Here's how Martha's Vineyard communities responded to the arrival of migrants | CNN

Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Martha's Vineyard is an 87 square mile island south of Cape Cod. It is prime summer vacation land. You would be hard pressed to buy any tiny property for under a $million. The Kennedy's have a fancy compound on the Island. The Obama's also bought a home on the Island. It about 10 miles south of the the Massachusetts mainland and it can be reached by ferry, yacht or boat.

The Republican governor is making provisions to move the immigrant to a military base on Cape Cod. He has already has National Guard ready for the transfer. This early turn out of island generosity is short term and for the camera. The tax payer will get the tab final, not the rich and fancy Democrats who live there. They do want property values or privacy to diminish.

This past year Massachusetts had a large budge surplus; $2 billion, and based on a law that was passed a few years back, this surplus was supposed to be returned to the taxpayers. The Republican Governor pushed for this. However, the Democrats Legislature reneged on the law they had made. The Governor is the charitable one, who is making provisions for longer term needs. You need to get passed the misinformation and propaganda.

Non-Christian complaining about Christians not being Christian enough! Cherry picking the words of a man you don't even believe in is just more heckling from the grandstands.

Jesus wasn't an enabler; he didn't set out to create a professional class of alms seekers or create sanctuary for law breakers. There are sanctuary cities and states all over America who undermine border security and the legal immigration system by protecting those who enter the country illegally. This creates an underground society wherein immigrants are exploited, are underpaid and lack access to protections under the law.

If the rich and famous of Marthas Vinyard want to provide sanctuary, they should take illegal aliens into their homes and find jobs for them.

(D)'s are weak on crime and have no spine to enforce a border so consequently border states bear the burden of a failed federal border protection.

The message of Leftist hypocrites is "not in OUR neighborhood"!

"The head of U.S. Border Patrol said on Tuesday that agents caught 10 illegal immigrant sex offenders in just three days, in addition to a number of gang members and a murderer — a snapshot of the crisis that the men and women in green are dealing with on a nearly-daily basis.

“The dangers are real,” Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said in a tweet on Tuesday. “Great work by our agents.”

Ortiz said that in three days, agents across the border had encountered 2,690 migrants — including 10 large groups. Among them were 10 sex offenders, four gang members and a murderer.

Agents hauled in 100 fentanyl pills and 71 lbs of methamphetamine. Meanwhile, agents made more than 90 rescues.

Imagine if Democrats put as much effort into securing our border as they do in trying to put the former president in jail!!!

Illegals, I assume you mean.

But you're right: that's not all he's doing. I am not a lawyer and all that, but it seems like he's committed all the required elements of a federal crime:

8 USC 1324: Bringing in and harboring certain aliens

And, of course, the problem of illegals is unfettered entrance, not immigration.
I would say that the bigger problem is a lack of empathy.

Why do you think "unfettered entrance" is a problem?

In the case of a lot of the people coming in irregularly across the US-Mexico border - in particular refugee claimants from places like Guatemala - allowing them entrance is not only not a problem, it's a legal - and I would argue moral - obligation.
