Why did God send Satan to us instead of hell.

Muffled

Jesus in me
Satan was not an angel by the way, as angels do not have free will

Satan was a "jinn", which are different from angels:

- Angels were created from light and don't have free will

- Jinn were created from fire and do have free will

Satan thought he was better than Adam, and arrogance made him disobey God's command to prostrate to Adam

Because of that, Satan was expelled from God's Mercy and became a fierce enemy of Adam and his descendents ...

The Bible says that Satan was the highest archangel even greater than Gabriel or Michael. If the qu'ran says otherwise it is in error. Angels also have free will. It was angels that Satan drew off with him.

Where do you find that? I never saw anything like it.

Dear Muffled

Satan was a jinn who worhsipped God, but was an arrogant worshipper

He happened to be with the angels when God commanded them to prostrate to Adam

All angels obeyed God's command, and only Satan disobeyed, as unlike the angels he had a free will, and he thought he was better than Adam, as he was created from fire, while Adam was created from clay

His arrogance lead him to be cursed and deprived from God's Mercy

We'll agree to disagree on that if you like

Peace and all the best

Strange that God had no trouble using genocide on us with His flood for disobedience but would hesitate to bring one unruly angel to heel.

Especially strange when scripture tells us to stone our own unruly children.

God, not following His own teachings?????

You must also know that people who were subjected to the flood were WARNED several times by their prophets.
You must also know that children are excluded from punishment of disobedience

About the big flood, this was God's way in punishing non-believers at earlier times...and it was the best way...why? for the sake of upcoming generations.

Especially strange when scripture tells us to stone our own unruly children.

I have never heard about scriptures telling us to ''stone childen'', at least in my religion.

Why then did He give the earth to Satan to use as a brothel which causes God to have to use the flood in the first place. Could He not forsee His own mistake?

Mistake?? i'm sorry to tell you that you know nothing about God.

Do you think you are more merciful than God?
Do you think he did not plan all this from the start?
Do you think that satan will not get his punishemnt, i mean a much tougher punishment than any sinful human?

The intention of life on earth is to distinguish believers from non-believers...good from evil.

So since God presented good, there had to be a master for evil, which is satan.

Seriously, you need to read verses involving satan in the Quran...believe me you will be relieved...you'll find answers for all your questions.

You take scripture literally and I do not.

All Bibles have wisdom however. Satan is just a name the writers of scripture use to encompass all evil thoughts and ideas. He has no personality or individuality except where it exists in our individualities.

And yes, I would be more merciful than the God you see in scripture. I would never break my own laws and use genocide against man.

Wrong, in the Quran there is 'Iblees', he is satan, he has personality and individuality...he was jinn then he has gone rogue after Adam was born.

Never, what you have is PITY, not mercy. God's mercy is endless.:)
You feel sympathy for people who you think are innocent.
If someone murdered a person close to you (God-forbid)...you will hope he gets what he deserves...that doesn't mean you are not being merciful because you hope someone would die.

1-God created man (Mercy)
2-Subdued everything for man's sake (Mercy)
3- Provided man with everything he needs in order to live...happily.(Mercy)
4-Asked man to obey him and do good deeds.
5-Warned the disobedient who threaten the well-being of other humans (Mercy)
6- Punished the disobedient (FAIRNESS)

What is that????????!!!:areyoucra

If this is some theory than its yours, only yours...as I told you, you need to know more about God rather than adjudge him depending on ''the flood''.

The flood is only one of many times where God is shown to kill man.

You ask what my little equations are. Truth. Right?

Floods or any other of the drastic events of Nature are not natural disasters. They
become disasters only where humans live. We have evolved enough to predict where
these events can happen, and enough to be able to build our own defenses. If we fail, the blame for the effects of the disaster rests upon our own shoulders. It has nothing to do with God.

Listen...i'll make it simple to you.

We are debating over God...right.

You are talking about someone you are far from, you never got to know him well.
I think that the opinion of a person closer to God should beat yours (and that person DOES not have to be me by the way...i mean one who knows God well will know he is merciful and fair)

Your judgement will never be fair as long as you are far from God.

Get close to God, speak to him honestly and maybe you could see his mercy.

I don't think mercy is the right word to describe God. "Justice" would make a better choice; although God is beyond description.

The Devil's Advocate
So God could not best Satan so He thought that man could do His job. Wow. God had much confidence in man.
No, you're still assuming the Christian story line of an epic struggle between God and Satan, as if they were equals.

Cordoba was referring to the Muslim version of the story. Satan never tries to topple God or be God's equal. Satan recognizes God as supreme ruler. He however feels that he is better than humans, and dislikes the preference that God gives to humans, and so becomes humanity's adversary. You could say that he is jealous of us. :p

Please show us the biblical verses that say this.

I know Cordoba's version is in the Qur'an. I am not aware of your version being in the bible.

Folks, there is no such a thing as Satan! Let's wake up and smell the coffee! We are in the 21st. Century for heaven's sake! The Middle Age is long gone! Satan is but a concept to illustrate the evil inclination in man. Satan as a being is promoted only by religious crooks in order to play with people's fears and make a living off the naive ones.
