Why do Gentiles assume they should follow the ten commandments?

Levite

Higher and Higher
They[people like "levite"] feel we might infect the tree or start flooding the place now called Israel.

I have no idea what "infect the tree" means. What I think is that Judaism and Jewish scripture is for Jews. Everything else is for non-Jews. If a non-Jew is so devoted to Jewish scripture and thought that they can find no satisfaction elsewhere, they may always convert to Judaism if they feel so strongly. But I do not believe in casual syncretism, or in non-Jews appropriating Jewish scripture, language, tradition, culture, or history to call it their own.

And as for immigration by non-Jews to Israel, I think it should be the same as with any other country: anyone seeking political asylum or refuge from persecution, who cannot find such refuge in a larger and wealthier country, should be free to come. All others should be given residency or citizenship according to the usual priorities that civilized nations use, as determined by the Ministry of the Interior.

I think they look upon us as Parasites and call those of "us" who have already returned to Shomron "the Settlers"

Generally when we talk about "settlers" in Shomron, we mean the small community of radical Haredim who live there. I have no idea who you're talking about: I didn't realize there were any Jews for Jesus or Messianic Jews or whatever kind of Jewishly-cloaked Christian sect you might be referring to in Shomron.

What sect of Judaism do you belong to "Levite" and if I may ask ; do you feel that you belong to the tribe of Levi. ?

I don't primarily identify through movement affiliation (we don't use the term "sect," since that implies a greater and more permanent divide than exists between the movements of Judaism today); but that said, I am a Conservative rabbi, son of an Orthodox rabbi and a Reform rabbi. My father's family were Chortkover Hasidim: they were Levi'im, as is my father, as am I.

Do some Jews actually trace themselves to a tribe other than Judah? The very question sounds ridiculous to me because it would seem to me that they would cease to be Jews and instead be Ruebenites, Gadites etc.

You mean; become part of the one-tribed Kingdom ?

....I have no idea who you're talking about: I didn't realize ....... in Shomron.

Ahhh,.. but such was the reply to Joseph as well, im sure.

How sure are you that you are a descendant of or son of Zadok ? You must be Schvitzing though eh ? :thud:

So then who's your Messiah if it's not Jesus?

The Jewish guy called Yeshua who has COMPLETELY, ..... a different message than your jesus.

He was a normal guy like Moses, a man, not a god.

He was in the grave for 3days and 3nights whereas your jesus was in the grave for only 2days and 2nights [making jesus a false messiah]

I find it hard to believe that your biggest issue with Christian theology is centered around the "debate" over whether Jesus was in the grave for three days or two

The word "Jew" means one descending from any of the Israelite tribes living in the Kingdom of Judah, not necessarily the Tribe of Judah itself. Those with the last name "Levi" and "Cohen" may very well be descendents of Levites and Cohens, just as those with a last name of Reuben or Ephraim may be from those tibes, but not necessarily.

What I think is that Judaism and Jewish scripture is for Jews.

I say the same thing about "Christianity", that its meant only for Jews and Torah followers, the problem is it got highjacked about 40 years after its founding by the anti-Judaizing gentiles.

Yeah well, such is life, some believe "the Word" , some dont :

Mat 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, "Rabbi, we want to see a sign from you."
Mat 12:39 But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Go study the following small book that Martin Luther wrote ; "The Jews and their lies" and see why Christianity is EVIL. [Hitler applied what Martin Luther suggested in this book]
Just Google it, it's free of charge on the internet.

The word "god" can refer to Angels. Jesus was the Incarnation of the Highest angel, the firstborn of Creation, the Personification of Wisdom incarnated. There's also the issue of what Jesus meant in John 10:34, quoting Psalms 82:6.

John 1:1 should correctly read "And the word was a god", despite the objections of most Trinitarians, as it is in the NWT and numerous other less-known scholarly versions.

What does "Torah followers" actually mean :

Followers of the "Torah made flesh" ?

So how can people say you are not to do Torah ? [Do as he did]

Worst of all is when they say he came to abolish himself[Torah] :thud:

Whatever...... I want nothing to do with jesus. How can you take a Ford manual and try to service a Mercedes Benz ?

When people use Matthew 5:17-20 to say that "Fulfilled" means "abolished" or "no longer in effect" it is like nails on chalkboard.

He fulfilled only four Feasts[the first four] as Moshiach ben Joseph.
He has not completely fulfilled as he still has to fulfill the last four Feasts of YHVH as Moshiach ben David

He still has to fulfill :
Yom Teruah..........Announcing of the coming King by blowing of Shofar.
Yom Ha Kipurim....Jugement
Booths...............All Nations to trek up to the Kingdom
The Eighth day......Yeshua hands over the Kingdom to YHVH
.

Notice in Zechariah 14 that the gentile nations will be commanded to go to Jerusalem to celebrate Succoth (booths) or they will suffer drought and plagues.....
