Why do liberals and gay rights activists say that gay marriage is similar to interracial marriage?

Do you consider gay marriage to be similar to interracial marriage?

They are both oppressed targets for much of the same reasons, which frequently includes various Biblical interpretation. Both are beaten, both are harassed. Homosexuals can better blend in with privileged society, but it's also very easy to become an outsider to that society. In the end they are both groups who are/were unfairly denied rights and systematically discriminated against.
But not according to the Bible.

God's second commandment is to "love thy neighbour". To "love" means to "respect" who your neighbour is, which means one should always observe the correct power relationship between different minorities such as blacks, gays, and disabled people etc. Because each minority will occupy a different space in the social pecking order or social hierarchy, which is why we must always observe the proper distance between groups of people who're minorities. But to compare black people to gay people, or gay people to disabled people wouldn't do any justice at all since they are clearly different and not the same. It's like comparing a square to a circle or triangle. How absurd can you be when you compare black people to gay people or disabled people etc, which are clearly not the same?

Because people are different and not the same one must keep a proper distance and RESPECT any difference as may exist between gay, black and disabled minorities. To love thy neighbour means to RESPECT that minorities are different. But those who consistently fail to observe God's commandment are not truly Christian at all; but such people will be destroyed by God's wrath on the day of judgment.

Remember that Jesus Christ will be your judge and Lord of the final judgment.

Theoretically, Jesus will have power to exclude any gay person from God's kingdom if you rebel against His commandment. (Isaiah 30:14, 45:9; Revelation 20:15)

So do not compare gay marriage to interracial marriage because they are clearly not the same.

Doesn't matter what you think. You may or may not agree with what I've said; but remember that Jesus' viewpoint will be the only opinion which will count on the day of judgment. Since God is omnipotent and sovereign Jesus' verdict will be the FINAL JUDGMENT.

For who is great enough to resist God's will? (Romans 9:19)
You didn't seem to see this the first time, so here it is once more;

You're making a lot of false assumptions about marriage. Marriage is a fluid social concept that is not unique to Western society or Abrahamic religions. It was originally(and in many places still is) about property & inheritance. The notion it was about two people who care for each other only really gained traction & viability in the mid-late 1800s. Production of children is also not the purpose of marriage. Marriage is whatever we say it is because it has been everything we have said it to be. It's fluid & changing, and no single authority exists to define it for everyone. Marriage existed long before the New Testament. It existed long before Bronze-age Israelites.

Gay marriage and interracial marriage are not the same. However, they are both areas in which people should be entitled to make their own decisions, and others should butt out.
So in that sense, identical!

If you think all Christians have gotten over the race thing, take a stroll through stormfrontdotorg.
But this is precisely my point. Those people are not truly Christian because they've consistently disobeyed God's commandment to "love thy neighbour".

They are Christian in name only, but they follow Satan instead of Christ. Which is why they will be consigned to the lake of fire on the day of judgment. This is clear according to God's law in the Bible. (Matthew 22:37; Mark 12:30-31; Luke 10:27; Isaiah 30:14; Revelation 20:15)

Listen, I don't care what gays, blacks, and disabled people do because it's none of my business. For as long as what they do doesn't affect what I'm doing then there shouldn't be any problem. But if they crossed the line and tried to compare their own situation to mine then it's a different ball game.

I will leave you alone as long as you leave me alone.

Why would making a comparison bother you? So what if they tried to compare their situation to yours? What is the problem? How could that possibly harm or effect you?

So you support marriage equality?

So you support marriage equality?
Right, I support marriage equality as I also support equal rights for blacks and other non-White minorities. But I refute, reject, and abhor any attempt to draw comparison between minorities. Whilst I am all in favour of equal rights for blacks and other minorities I sincerely hope no one will say that I am "black" cause I'm not. Likewise, I do not expect to be compared with gay people cause I'm not gay.

Whilst I support equal rights for blacks, gays, disabled people and other minorities I am not stupid enough to presume everyone to be the same or equal, which they're not. But despite equal rights, each minority will occupy a different space in the social pecking order or social hierarchy.

Therefore, gay marriage is not the same as interracial marriage because gay people are clearly inferior to heterosexual couples, which is regardless of cultural, ethnic, and racial difference between man and woman.

In what way do you imagine they are inferior? What a strange thing to say.

So are you saying the bible made a mistake by comparing these two groups based on similarities, (which is exactly what categorization is), when it grouped them together as "neighbors."
They are neighbours only insofar as they are human. But in terms of what defines a "minority" black people and gay people are obviously not the same.

Therefore, gay marriage is not the same as interracial marriage because each minority is defined by its own criteria; but such criteria are usually different.

No therefore, they are grouped together even by your bible. They are equated in your bible. You clearly see ways in which they are the "same," if only that they are both human.

So your whole rant about not "comparing" them has been debunked, torn asunder, and left as remains for the non human seagulls.

Point, set, match...New topic please.

Phew. I was wondering how we were going to be able to effectively divide the world up by 'races'. Seems all I had to do was ask you!

No two people are the same. Arbitrary lines of race and preference aside, that is a universal truth.
As for your comments about 'clearly inferior', I will give that the response it deserves.

No, you have no authority but your own vested interest.

But you know what the law says don't you?

I see you trying to make a distinction, and that is fair. However, ranting on about how the two cannot be grouped together and then for your support, you use an example where--get this-- they are grouped together....bwaahhaaahaaahaaa

Point is, you haven't managed to "debunk" anything at all since you provide no evidence to "debunk" such argument in the first. Your rant is nothing but rhetoric, which doesn't serve to make your point.

Being human doesn't mean that two people are the same. Because black and white people are human doesn't mean that they're "equal" or the same. One is clearly superior to the other. Being human is the only thing which two people will have in common. But gay people are clearly inferior to heterosexuals. Because they are human doesn't mean that they are both the same or "equal".

Gay people are not "equal" but inferior to straight people. Period.

Look up 'inferiority complex' - because you have one.

Perhaps you need to reconsider what you've said and think about the last judgment.

The Son of God is superior to any human which is part of the creation. You will always be lower and inferior to Jesus Christ Son of the Most High.

Just remember who you are and don't leave your position.
