Why do people make children?

Capitalism is a load of rubbish that is destroying the planet.

That's why rules have to be in place when employing capitalism; to keep the people from destroying the planet.

Because your standards are ridiculous on this issue. You consider the existence of a very small chance as a good chance.
We obviously aren't gonna agree on this issue; but can we both agree that there are plenty of cases where rich people originate from meager means?
But very often it is not. And the people occupying this position are the losers in capitalism.
Is it your view that most people who work what I call "starter jobs" never improve their financial situation?

Sure, but this is an utterly irrelevant observation as far as this topic goes.

That's going to depend on what country and time period we are talking about. How does this relate to what we are talking about?

You are making the claim that capitalism is ruining everything. I'm saying that's why we have laws in place; to keep capitalists from destroying everything.

Not everything. Just the environment. Which is pretty close to everything.

Can you prove corporate compliance with regulations? Because I can find plenty of cases of the opposite. Up to and including the exploitation of other places and people's. Banana Republic should ring some bells.

On what planet is electricity, rubber, wood, oil, human labor, and money in danger of being depleted?

Minus money which is an imaginative abstraction.

This one.

Climate change affects resources. And environmental degradation.

Mass extinctions are occuring globally, across plant, animal and marine life. Everything we depend upon is faltering....

No; here is the connection.
This thread is about why nobody should have children. The person I was originally debating with made the claim only the rich should have kids because they’re the only ones who can keep their kids comfortable, middle income and poor can’t. I responded that the majority of today's rich were born either middle class or poor.
That's going to depend on what country and time period we are talking about.
I’m talking about what is going on in the United States in today’s economy.
How does this relate to what we are talking about?
The claim was people working low paying jobs today are the victims of capitalism. My claim is just because you might be working a low paying job today doesn’t mean you always will.

Are you asking me to provide proof that 100% of all corporations are compliance with regulations? Or only a percentage of them.

Climate change is not a depleting resource that prevents the poor from getting out of poverty and into the middle class. Care to try again?

Nope.

Because I left that (bolded) argument behind when you said capitalism wasn't a driver of ecological collapse.

And therefore they should wait until they are rich to have children or what... ? What conclusion are you drawing here?

I’m talking about what is going on in the United States in today’s economy.

Why? @Estro Felino is italian.

The claim was people working low paying jobs today are the victims of capitalism. My claim is just because you might be working a low paying job today doesn’t mean you always will.

Which is irrelevant. It doesn't change the current reality.

But there is an environment to live in, so it does mean something for the poor to be able to move up
I remind you that if the poor or the middle class magically stopped making children, the Capitalists would have zero workers ,,,and they would lose lots of money.
So Capitalism needs slaves to exploit so the Capitalists take advantage of their fruit of their work.

I remind you that people who sell their labor for a wage they agreed upon are not slaves. I also remind you if the raw materials to make products just magically disappeared, capitalists would not be able to purchase the materials to turn into products and they would not be able to make money. As a matter of fact; just like you, I can come up with lots of absurd scenarios that if just magically happened, capitalists would lose.

So if the workers ask to work for 5 hours a day for 6 days, on the same salary, the Capitalist will accept?
