Why does Donald Trump hold such power over the Republican Party?

How unconscious do you need to be not to know that large urban centres -- everywhere around the world -- have more crime for the extremely simple reason that they have more people per square inch? Or that you are wrong -- they actually have more economic and educational opportunities, but also people competing for those opportunities?

But you merely claim that Democrats are pocketing and skimming money -- an example please. But of course, there won't be one. I've watched you long enough to know that you know what you know and don't need anything so useless as evidence! That is, in a word, the way the religious impulse works.
Here’s an example…

“The country is reeling from the news that a major political figure has been indicted.

On Tuesday, county prosecutors charged Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price with 10 counts of embezzlement, perjury, and conflict of interest.”

Another…

“Monday’s convictions of Councilman Bobby Henon serve as just another example of the magnitude of political corruption that is harming our community,” Smith told me in an email. “It’s disheartening that another elected official has let down the people he was elected to serve. Too often, we accept this corruption and label it this 'business as usual,' but that should not ever be the case.”

“How can Philadelphia rank so low in the nation when it spends $12,570 per pupil each year on public schools? Furthermore, with the aforementioned tax formula, why has there been a serious budget crisis each year that’s almost prohibited schools from operating? With massive hikes in property taxes, the retention of wage taxes, and the creation of new taxes; why is Philadelphia still operating as if it’s in a fiscal crisis?

Look no further than the corruption embedded deep in the city’s political infrastructure.”

Yes, "both sides" have issues with ethics, corruption, competency, etc. but it's hardly equal in proportion. I don't hero worship politicians; I try to determine who's the "lesser evil" via critical thinking and objective examination.
1. I'd be curious for examples of how they are unbalanced.

2. Who cares what level of evil it is? Is evil evil, or non evil?

Why is it dangerous to realize our politicians are corrupt??
That is a stunning distortion of the dialogue. Let's look ...
The Republican party has evolved into the party of white grievance crying out for validation and leadership.
I think that is a fine summary of all American politics these days.
And I think yours is an extremely ignorant and perversely dangerous opinion.
You claimed, not that "our politicians are corrupt" (itself being a baseless and stupid generalization), but that "all American politics" can be characterized as "white grievance crying out for validation and leadership."

Such childish cynicism serves only to promote indifference and perpetuate the very thing you pretend to oppose.

I do.
Is evil evil, or non evil?
The level of evil varies.
And its highly context dependent.
For those of us who sometimes vote
for the lesser of 2 evils, it matters.

In Trump's case, we have a cult leader
who staged a failed coup. And he
seeks power once again, while trying
to evade accountability for crimes.
That's extraordinary evil.

Wow, you managed to find 3 examples, from years ago. And I am willing to be that the only reason that you couldn't find any Republican corruption wasn't because you weren't looking for it, right? It's because, of course, all Republicans being as white as snow, there simply isn't any!

Beware, sometimes the snow is yellow!

Oh, and 3 examples over years is not really evidence that "all Democrats do it." Not something that would matter to you, but there it is, anyway.

Yet, Democratic policies and programs continue to damage minority communities and Democrat controlled cities, which are disproportionately crime-ridden, with fewer economic and educational opportunities.
False as someone else already has covered.
The Democrats oppose giving parents freedom to control where their children go to school and what they learn.
Completely unadulterated falsehood. Is this what your church teaches you as being moral? If so, then look for a church that actually teaches that's compatible with Jesus' Two Commandments.
Democrats oppose limiting government so businesses and the economy are free to grow at a healthy pace, curbing inflation.
So, you think that money is more important than Judeo-Christian/humanistic morality?

According to FBI estimates, white-collar crime outpaces blue-collar crime 4:1 in terms of $ ripped off. Need I remind you that it's the Pubs, not the Dems, who are more white-collar oriented and supported? Look at Donald J. Trump as just one example.

The republicans' war on the law, rights, liberty, equality, justice, science, etc. is far more prominent and widespread.
This is a repetition of the claim not an explanation.
If you were going to be fed a **** sandwich regardless, would you choose a big one or a small one?
I would not eat the sandwich.

I mean, yes. The only thing I could see in doubt would be white grievance, but we are literally speaking of the party of reverse racism. Maybe replaced grievance with guilt? Maybe just call it race obsessed?
Such childish cynicism serves only to promote indifference and perpetuate the very thing you pretend to oppose.
How? How does not supporting the republicans support the republicans? Thats just political propaganda.

Cool, so you openly and knowingly choose to support evil. And then you probably wonder why things are **** haha

The perfect example is the tax evasion/liability. It's practically natural to reduce the liability even if it as simple as playing with the numbers.
