You're most likely correct, although I don't think America would be in a bad spot if WW2 never happened.

Sure. Some advantages are geographical. Obviously the US has resource superiority compared to the UK or any other small nation-state. It did prior to the war.

But both World Wars helped shape Americans' perceptions of Europe and the rest of the world, along with saddling us with the burden of "making the world safe for democracy." I don't think many Americans relished that role or really wanted it - at least not at first.

Sure. However in hindsight 20/20 no one else that was acceptable was going to step up. It would take a crisis which would lead to remilitarization after disarmament after WW2. The exact issue before WW2 in which unprepared nations were not willing to take action until it was too late.

He believes in an eye for an eye when it comes to intellectual jousting.

Without the constraints of law OT justice would be fine for tRump. There is very little or no evidence that others had abused tRump in the manner tRump abuses others.

I do not know of any evidence that John McCain abused tRump first in the manner tRump abused McCain.

. . . and financial dominance through unethical and illegal methods.

Ha!
Turns out it was the well known nutcase, who always claims she is the victim, Amy Dallamura aka "Based Amy" - and it was not the main Trump Blimp but a smaller version.
Only she is daft enough to carry a knife in London and not expect to be arrested.

She didn’t need a knife. She improvised.

A certain religion is always claiming it is a victim even though some of its followers carry out much more heinous crimes than Amy has ever done or will ever do.

Why did she post a picture of her cut finger then?

I'm not condoning what she did or condemning it. It is a bit like throwing a milk shake. Quite funny.

Many of the people he has to deal with would not listen to an argument.
So, that somehow excuses his bullying? Hey, I'm pretty sure each kid in elementary school who bullies his/her fellow students blames it on the kids they're bullying.

Not with Trump. He insults everyone right out of the gate. He is always first and foremost.

Maybe, although it's rather difficult to tell "who started it." Not that it really matters that much, although it always takes two to tango.
