Woman, 2 children die crossing Rio Grande as Border Patrol says Texas troops prevented them from intervening

Sick and horrifying if true.
There are two stories here. The border patrol has more reason to lie and a history of lying than the Texas Guard does. Do you really believe anyone Texas Guard or Border Patrol would let someone die if they could save them?

Well Texas is preventing pregnant women from getting healthcare that is putting their lives at risk for nothing more than politics, so yeah. The bottom line is that republicans care more for politics than human life. Their claim of "pro-life" means nothing.

Classrooms full of children shot to pieces to such a degree that they can't be identified, meaningless to republicans. Migrants drowning in the Rio Grand, why would it mean anything?

Your response reminds me of the following quote from a Catholic nun who had an important message for pro-life Republicans:

"I do not believe that just because you are opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, a child educated, a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is." - Sister Joan Chittister

That poor woman and her two children. Yes, it is sick and horrifying if true, but as a Texan, I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. I've lived in Texas for over thirty years and have witnessed firsthand the disgusting bigotry these people express against undocumented and documented immigrants in Texas. And with that in mind, I don't have a problem stating the following: Maybe Abbott and his "pro-life Christian" conservative Republican cronies in charge here in Texas would have ordered the border patrol to save this poor woman and her children if she had been pregnant with them instead. No wait; on second thought, I doubt it because she was an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and her skin wasn't the right color for them to see her as a human being.
For religious conservatives the "sanctity of life" begins at conception and ends at birth.

All it takes is a request for military aid. That happened with Mexico with Pablo Escobar and I don't see why I can't be done in other countries.

But it really doesn't solve the problem as the conditions in the Northern Triangle Countries, Venezuela, etc. are so horrible due to various factors. Trump made it worse when he withdrew all American humanitarian aid to the NTC, thus leading to more and more leaving and heading north. And the coyotes are pushing this to the max so as to make buku pesos.

Glad you admit there is an American side.

What a weird choice of words, seeming put out to try and pump yourself up. Facts are facts, so maybe just spout facts instead of being so self-congratulating.

Sorry, but the laws are set by congress. The administration has to follow the laws. Remember it was the Trump administration that broke federal and international laws by housing migrants in unsanitary facilities, and way longer than the law allows. The camps actually refused to allow international humanitarian groups entry into the facilities to assess the conditions.
And force sterilized women.

Trump used a E.O. to cut off funds.

There are some other things along this line as well.
LOL No. It has been 3 years since Trump was in office. If Biden hasn't restored these supposed EO cut funds, guess who would be to blame? (Hint, it wouldn't be Trump) And also irrelevant in this case. It turns out the woman and children had drowned long before the border patrol even attempted to reach them. Like I wrote before, if the border patrol had done their job and prevented them attempting to cross they would not have died.

A DOJ filing said the migrants had died prior to the Texas Guard being contacted and not allowing the border patrol to enter the area. Go figure the left and the media lied.

I assume the left will still blame Texas for the drownings.

How did the media lie?

Nothing is more effective then the hard facts for this twisted story that has been contoured into a political weapon by the Peoples Democrat Party.

You avoided my point above, which is quite disingenuous of you.

So, you're against both international and American law? People do have a right of seeking possible asylum.

So, don't people seeking asylum, or at least help, count? Or are they just little pawns in your scheme of things?

As for myself, if Trump had made the decision to not withhold humanitarian aid to those in the Northern Triangle Countries, which spurred more and more of them leaving and heading north, maybe this problem wouldn't be as bad. On top of this, the Republicans and some Democrats refuse to deal with trying to compromise on a long-term solution.
