:) When I was in the Navy, I was made fun of because I had values that were more strict than others. I didn't sleep around, I didn't cuss much, I didn't drink or smoke. The reason I did not do these things really had nothing (or little) to do with my faith, but for other reasons (I don't drink because there is a high incidence of alcoholism in my family, for instance). I never minded what people thought of me. What people thought of me didn't matter, it was what I thought of me that truly mattered.

Being very young, Penguino, makes me wonder if you worry about what others think of you. At your age, peer pressure is a real thing and a hard thing. I hope you will continue to hold on to your values and keep being the mature young man you appear to be.

I know this is off-topic, but I felt moved to say this for some reason (maybe God moved me to say it). I hope you have a great day.

They areally aren't! Honest. We have recently had a wave of paranois christians who are complaining about how badly they are being treated, when they look at treatment, they dish the murder out most of time.

Thank god there are not paranoid Hindus, oherwise RF would be swamped wtih all sorts of threads.
So there are whiney Christians. Is this a surprise? No.

I've seen them since day one out of the womb, and yes they may come here and complain like idiots. Do they at all represent the Christian majority? No.

And it just so happens that there are whiney Hindus as well, but if you use logic, you can deduce that they are most likely located in India, or somewhere else in Asia, and they are not likely to come onto an English-speaking forum on the Internet and profess their perspective.

Just because you do not see them here, does not mean they do not exist.

There will be whiney individuals in every religion, including Christianity and Hinduism, and if they just so happen to come here and complain, should there be a big deal?

No.

Settle down. You're obviously annoyed at the fact that your religion is not the "dominant" one in your eyes. Probably more to the point, the stupid, whiney Christians, who have nothing to complain about compared to you, are the dominant religion.

Oh, and the Chinese do have it pretty bad in regards to Christianity. A girl at my church who was born there has come to Australia and become Christian, but she has said that if she ever goes back there with her faith, then it might be hard (or impossible) to come back here.

I feel that this thread is evidence of the intolerance of Christians.

Intolerance is wrong period. It doesn't matter whether the group that is suffering it is a majority or a minority.

There are two reasons why persecution is wrong:
It causes harm to the persecuted
It is injust

The second reason is often ignored. If you treat one group one way and another group differently then you are being intolerant. I have a friend at school who rips down posters put up by the CU (Christian Union) advertising events. He walks by posters put up by the AASS (Atheist, Agnostic and Secular Society), Jsoc (Jewish society) etc. This is intolerant.

I agree that Christians seem to be by far the most defensive about their religion.
They are also the largest religion and most likely to speak the same language that we do, English. With large numbers and little or no lack of communication, I'm sure we as the English-speaking population are more likely to hear them defend their religion as opposed to any other.

It may appear that they are most defensive, but that does not necessarily mean they are.

Firstly, I'd just like to say how much of a massive generalisation this is. Christians have made mistakes in the past, most have learnt, and all are still learning. To simply that all Christitans: "dish out murder" is a redundant statement. The minority do these things at this present time, and not all. I'm also certain that there are people of other faith-systems who cannot be categorised into a stereotype so easily.

Secondly, persecution happens toward all beliefs that another may disagree with. People tend to instinctively reject difference, which is the primary cause of cultural segregation, and most persecution that happens world wide. It's sad, really. By stating that this fact only applies to Christianity is nothing short of narrow-minded.

Do yourself a favour, and think before you make such claims.

Other religions are generally tolerated in Christian worlds. Christians are generally persecuted in other worlds.

I dont see why every one seems to press on christians! I haven't complained because i honestly dont care. We have our own religion which alot of people have, and you shouldn't try to debate about this because we have our own beliefs, you have yours, and I personally think you guys are afraid that we are right! There i got it all out.

Sure they do, its a right, but not over and over again.
Says who? If people are consistently being treated badly, then there is justification of consistently complaining about it.

Maybe we should tell all those starving and diseased people in Africa to stop complaining over and over while we're at it. The annoyance is such a burden for the rest of us.

If it's really happening, does it matter if you hear it in the news or not?

You're missing the point entirely though. People shouldn't have to be silent about their ailments because it annoys you personally. That's a rather selfish request.
