Hi. I read your pantheism thread. You mentioned that you set up a website. Is it still around? I'm interested in pantheism myself and would like to read it. Thanks.
I agree. I was just thinking how these fixed kinds apparently migrated across the globe leaving little evidence of themselves along the way, or the biological impossibility of certain animals spreading wide from a central point. The wombat mentioned by Auto earlier came to mind.
Yes, it...
Well, I've now joined you in that experience (but only this once!)
I've just returned from my christian challenge. This was my first church service and it was strange.
To be surrounded by people claiming to be filled with the love of their god, the atmosphere was very solemn and sombre...
By stating that ‘kinds = genera’, creationists are now locked into defending that position – now with conflicting and contradictory results. As a result, we see animals shoe-horned into various categories and forced to undertake bizarre migratory adventures across the globe...
I don't believe that the alignments of planets and moons can have any affect on our personalities. It is just another method by which some people try to find pattern and meaning in their lives. Nothing wrong in that, but it is a huge money-spinner, and astrologers have the potential capacity for...

That tends to kill the conversation somewhat.
I think you may be confusing ridges with bridges. A ridge, geologically, forms when two plates are pulled apart and is highly volcanic (think of Iceland on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge), so it is unlikely that ridges would be used as crossing points. This is where land bridges come in.
Do you have...
Good point. It would almost equate to cannibalism. That's a strange concept worthy of another thread. What's with the symbolic cannibalistic approach to communion in some religions? I might bring that up with the minister on Thursday...
