    Christians on afterlife

The evidence for Jesus of Nazareth's existence is stronger than that for Julius Caesar's. You take Roman historians on trust; so why not the Gospel-writers ?

    Christians on afterlife

Christian doctrine (all churches) states that God is both infinitely merciful and infinitely just. The Bible always needs interpretation - and says of itself: "The written word brings Death; it is the Spirit [of God] that gives Life." I.e. the Bible should only be read with God's healing and...

    Christians on afterlife

Yes - in the sense of praying that they will repent. No - in the sense of giving them a free hand.

    Christians on afterlife

No - Jesus replied: "Do your best to enter by the narrow door, for many will try to enter but won't succeed." Many, not "most." In other words, Jesus was non-committal and we don't know the answer.

Anonymous ? : Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, in fact. What makes you think they were fools or liars ?

    Christians on afterlife

Will the African be lost ? No - because he is a Christian without realising it; somehow, Jesus has got through to him and converted him.

    Christians on afterlife

When Jesus was asked, point blank "Sir, will only a few be saved ?" , He replied: "Try to enter by the narrow door, because many will try to enter but not succeed" Those are careful and non-committal words. Had Jesus said "Yes" everyone would succumb to Despair; had He said "No" everyone...

    Christians on afterlife

There are no cut-and-dried facts regarding religion one way or the other. But one has to choose belief or unbelief - no one can live a life based on "maybe" or "perhaps." Pascal's Wager points out that it is safer to assume that God DOES exist. BTW Jesus is God - that is what God is like.

In what way ? And if it weren't for God, we wouldn't exist.

    Christians on afterlife

Like the rest of us, you will sooner-or-later have to choose between being eternally good and eternally evil (sooner or later, because the final choice has to be made at one's time of death, which may be a few seconds or umpteen years away). With an eternity of Heaven or Hell according to how...

Nowhere in the Bible does it say or infer that mary the Mother of Christ...

The decision that Mary should be sinless was entirely God's.

    The Power Of Circular Reasoning

What faults, what failings ? Jesus died a terrible death so as to save each of us personally. How is that a fault or failing ?

    The god of this world

Yes, atheists are very gullible and irrational.

    The god of this world

God is everything that is good and kind, Satan is everything that is evil and cruel.

    The god of this world

It is Satan (not God) who is the Father of Lies.
  16. C

    The god of this world

Can't be - evil cannot create.
  17. C

    The god of this world

God is a libertarian, not a tyrant - therefore allows evil to exist.
  18. C

    The god of this world

How ? Satan is the source of all the moral and spiritual evil in the world.

    The Power Of Circular Reasoning

"Apparently" - every scholar has his or her own opinion on the matter ! What Jesus did isn't credible if He was a mere human being - but is eminently credible if He was also God. And what makes you think He wasn't ?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say or infer that mary the Mother of Christ...

Scapegoating is a universal fact among human beings - only Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross (and thus Christianity) has brought scapegoating to an end. The sins of the fathers are not visited spiritually upon their descendants - but they are from a practical viewpoint. Those who died in the...
