Where's heaven? In the Xian bible they always have the person "ascending" into the clouds like heaven is up in the stratosphere. Of course, we now know better, that "space" is not heaven. So where is heaven?
Catholicism has a history not only of discouraging contraception, but also promoting having large families, i.e adding more believers to the church. Simple arithmetic.
ROFLMAO
Almost as convincing as claiming second or third hand hearsay from unknown writers is
"certain" evidence of someone's existence, even though that "someone's" life could not possibly have matched up to the miracles and other stories described in the gospels.
These guys are a laugh a...
Uh, you're the one not reading for comprehension, here's my original post.
"1. When he was born.
2. When he died.
3. Nobody can point to a SPECIFIC man in history and say, yep, that was Jesus.
4. The little "evidence" claimed to support the existence is either hearsay, or forged.

Everyone knows he was a historian, but his writings were definitely "messed" with to come up with what little "hearsay" evidence exists for the supposed Jesus. Josephus was also known to go into great detail about the most minor events in history, yet included no important detail whatsoever...
Simple logic demands that if the supposed Jesus was not "important" enough for historians to write about (i.e. no miracles, no multitudes of people following him around, no high profile trial), then where were the gospel writers pulling this material from?
Not from a living person's actions...
We certainly do know most "famous" people's dates of birth and death. We also know a lot about their lives from real historical records, real historical artifacts, their own writings, writings of biographers, etc. None of this exists for the supposed Jesus.
1 and 2. The fact that we do not know when he was born or when he died simply adds to the weight of evidence FOR the "Jesus is a myth" argument, it certainly doesn't add to the other sides. The fact that the birth story itself is not mentioned in one of the gospels indicates even more that the...
Look in a mirror, you described yourself to a "T". You're the one here who has a chip on your shoulder (among a few others), which indicates your strong bias. Either put up some hard evidence, or move on.
If you're talking about the thread starter, I agree, the Jesus story was very much plagurized from other religious and philosophical myth, nothing occurs in a vaccum. It wasn't dreamed up out of thin air.
