Throughout the election, the complaint I saw most was about inflation, which in the U.S. got up to about 9%, and lasted less than 2 years.
I guess people only know what they've experienced themselves, and nothing like that has happened for quite a long time, except for a couple of very...
Please guys...
You know, I made the same suggestion a couple of days ago in another thread. It was mostly tongue-in-cheek, because I know that Joe Biden would never even consider such a thing. Nobody's perfect, but that is outside his world-view -- he's far too much an institutional sort of...
There is, of course, much in what you say -- and you say it well.
My one observation, however, is that those humans you speak of are also gullible to an extent that cannot be good for them. Trump promised them better lives, yes. But he didn't say how. Harris actually did say how ordinary...
Gawd, you miss the simplest, most obvious things: he was the PRESIDENT, speaking from the White House -- that is to say officially. He knows nothing about medicine, but was making ridiculous statements that his medical advisors were in no position, in that forum, to dismiss. That is wantonly...
No need to pardon him -- the Justice Department is already shutting down all the cases against him. Law and order, that's the ticket!
In a world of lies, maybe we should be looking for the truth. It'll be in very short supply for the next 4 years.
I wonder if Biden can take a lesson from...
Okay, I'm not trying to be confrontational here, so let's get that out of the way.
Look, it may be a problem with my brain -- but I cannot conceive of how anyone could have listened -- actually listened, with good comprehension -- to one of Trump's rambling, 2+ hour orgies of self-pity mixed...
Trump gets his jollies from "strength," and consuming your neighbours is "strong." I'm sure he'll quite enjoy watching Russia swallow up a few nearby countries. That Moldova's looking pretty tasty, don't you think?
And that's my point. If you don't know what he says, why vote for him?
If what I say about another person is backed up by real evidence -- especially if it's evidence provided by themselves, out of their own mouths -- then I don't think you can characterize what I'm saying as insulting them...
"If he did that..."
You are confirming something I've gathered all along -- you don't actually listen to those you support. So how in the heck can you really know what you're voting for?
I, on the other hand, listen very carefully to both sides. And I don't even get a vote!
The only way he can be impeached at this point is if the Democrats win the House -- and this is in some significant doubt. In any case, a newly empowered Senate won't convict anyway.
Donald Trump now has effectively unlimited power -- he is now your King.
You're luckier than me -- I'm not an American, but on a clear day I can see the place across the lake. And because we're so closely linked, we'll be the most impacted by whatever happens going forward.
Thanks for the modest vote of confidence, but I can be misguided, too.
But I couldn't help notice your comment about "different kinds of problems." Well, one of those is that we are all human, we have our own talents, foibles, notions, misconceptions -- and we're trying to live together. Just...
