Here is the thing. It is true that they are not based on certainty. But none of your assertions are either. Every observation of reality has a differing degree of certainty. And the certainty of stastics is much more sound than all of your unbacked claims.

    Is it debasing science?

To clarify, your asking if an unbased assertion trumps a logical process?

Difficulties when it comes to Polytheism and me.

How are they in violation of that?

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

So since you said you needed a spirit to guide you, that your morals come from your soul, and that people have souls, does that not mean that your own soul can guide your morality?
  8. CogentPhilosopher

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

So if a human guided you, it would be a spirit guiding you.

    Belief Systems or Religions

Yeah but that comes from basic human morality. It would be more suprising if it didn't.

    Belief Systems or Religions

I would say no the only things they have in common are what they have to have by definition, faith and the supernatural. Islam is very different from Wicca for example.

Is a person a Christian if...

No I did not! I said they picked what books went into he Bible. Don't take my word on it, this just takes a quick Google search.

Then that god would have had to have purposely made an unfair test.

Is a person a Christian if...

So basically your saying he creates people with certian traits full well knowing that those traits would make them reject the Bible and then tortures people for rejecting the Bible? That sounds like a ****ing psychopath.
  18. CogentPhilosopher

Is a person a Christian if...

No I think like a philosophy major. 1st of all, if a god made all of us he would know we have different ideas of common sense so he would have known that ambiguous instructions would not be useful. 2nd of all, your saying that Catholics cannot tell the difference between the Pope a priest and...
  19. CogentPhilosopher

    Is it debasing science?

Yeah and your grammar is not very good. I think your trying to say that humans using the discoveries of science debases the science which would not make any sense. Science is a method not a collection of ideas.

    Young and questioning

Thank you for demonstrating that you have confirmation bias. I am saying that facts are near- certian observations of truth that are subject to change. The truth however is unchanging. For example, it was a fact that the atom could not be split but it was not the truth.
