Experience is all that can truly be known.
(to the experiencer)
We each know our first hand experience of things.
That being said,
the conclusions, or suppositions we draw about our experiences
are of our own personal creation.
The labels we put on them,
the ways we explain them
--the things...
But Edison didn't 'have' the technology of the electric lightbulb.
He tinkered relentlessly until he found something that worked. no?
He previously had no actual evidence that his vision would work.
He believed in his vision enough to do what was crazy enough
to prove to himself and everyone...
People imagine they see many things.
Yourself included.
Your view seems 'normal' to you,
because it is your view.
Most of the people I know just see a world of people
all out trying to make a living, just like themselves.
Looking for stability, happiness, sucesses/personal accomplishment...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't technology in general been the result of invention?
For example the light bulb.
How many years worth of materials were tried before a working filament was found?
This was nothing more really, than ultra VIGILANT trial and error,
carried out in 'light' of a...
ummm... no... Mutual Respect...
stemming most importantly
from love,
and genuine appreciation of the other.
Besides which it's highly hypocritical
to expect one behavior from your children
while you hold your own behavior to a lower standard.
It's a good way to teach your children how to be...
I really do find it an interesting querry that people don't work together more
to mutually help one another up.
Yes, I know our system is set up to keep us divided,
but we COULD be smarter than that.
I think the insistance on this 'nuclear family model'
keeps everyone economically isolated...
Ummmm mostly people ask each other questions about themselves to get to know one another?
Some people have ulterior motives, sure.
maybe they want to convert everyone to their religion.
But THANKFULLY those are the exceptions,
and not the rule.
When you go through life assuming there's...
You could honestly say that you do it in your leisure time, though.
You have free time from the work of life's DEMANDS,
and you choose to use that ('free') time for martial arts.
I really don't see how a thing can be/act as an idol
unless it is an ACTUAL substitution for (the functions/purposes of) (your) 'god'.
Like applesause is an ACTUAL substitution for ... mmm... butter?
or yougurt might substitute for sourcream.
(I'm not a cook- but you know what I mean)
An...
The schools will then make sure your children have only a pittance of leisure time
(ie., time for themselves- to do what THEY want)
when they're through with them.
Then there are all the chores that need to be done while the parent is off working
day and night.
That's a DAMN LOT of money and...
People do not have leisure time vicariously through their children.
They either ACTUALLY have leisure time
(ie, 'down time', time for themself--time to personally rest and relax--
'take it easy')
or they don't.
But you knew this already, I'm sure.
As I said....
housing and food for your children.
To reiterate, two jobs and no free time, not even for sleep.
Yet all of your money is being spent.
*how can this be?*

just to keep the roof over their kids head
and food in their stomach.
Some people know no leisure whatsoever.
