Possibly, but I've already been entrenched in the franchise. I felt the same with Dragon Ball: Evolution; the movie, in-and-of-itself, wasn't bad, but having been a fan of the anime for years, I felt the movie was a betrayal of the series.
I won't disparage all remakes. I loved the Karate Kid with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. But from what I can tell of the trailer, this one doesn't look to be good.
Many people here at RF are on a search for truth. But what does this mean, exactly? We seek to know reality as it is. This isn't an easy task, and takes work and thought to gain any ground.
But how many people here, or anywhere, claim to search for truth, when all they really do is seek...
Wasn't it Socrates who said something to the effect of "the more I learn, the less I know"? Our perceptions are clouded in ignorance, so our beliefs about reality are the same. What we think we know, oftentimes, we don't. This isn't to put down science, but that's only relative truth. Only...
I won't address the evolution/abiogenesis part of your thread, it's become pointless. But I find it funny that people try, as hard as they can, to prove god did not create evil. He created all things, according to your theology, yet somehow man supposedly created the great antithesis to god...
With all these remakes lately, it was only a matter of time before they picked a great such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I just found out about this Friday, and I seen the trailer for it on Youtube:

I love the Turtles. Ever since I was...
There's so much I want to say about this, but don't really have the patience for it anymore. So all I'll say is this: this is stupidity at it's best (worst).
Cities evolved, so to speak, to be that way. It started with small communities of a particular tribe. Later on, we see villages, then small towns, then after that, bigger cities. Even from a sociological standpoint, evolution at work.
As far a humans being created perfect, then evil coming...
Scientists just took a major step toward making life from scratch | The Verge
Science keeps getting closer and closer to all kinds of goals, here, making life from nothing. Some people, particularly creationists, like to say that this isn't possible, but science keeps pushing forward, and is...
As far as the Abrahamic religions are concerned, Islam is the most interesting to me, and the one where the view of god seems most logical. With that said, I find belief in god in and of itself to be quite illogical. That, and following a book based on one person's religious experiences seems...
My step-dad used to tell me "you spend too much time buried in books, you have books smarts, but no common sense." I used to resent him for that, but the older I get, the more I realize he may have been right. But there's a reason for that. I lack basic social skills. I have no idea how to...
This just makes me want to see it. At first, I thought it was just going to be more of the Christians trying to use Hollywood to evangelize. If Ken Ham hates it this much, it's worth a view, IMO.
As for the theology, the god as portrayed in the OT is a bloodthirsty, god of war, who condones...
This is something I've been thinking about for awhile. Keep this in mind as you read this: not everything that takes the name of Buddhism, is Buddhism.
In Kamakura Japan, various Buddhist schools took root. Most of them were imports from China, with the notable exception of Nichiren...
I grew up in the deep south, so I've seen instances of this first hand. I graduated high school with six advanced maths and six advanced sciences. My AP Calculus II and AP Physics classes were taught by head varsity sports coaches, and half filled with athletes who could barely spell their...
