People Love Helpless Jews (to paraphrase a book title, People Love Dead Jews) - Jews that fight back, not so much

If there is any truth in this, I doubt it is true everywhere. Growing up in London in the 60's and 70's I often came across references to "The Battle of Cable Street." In 1936 many local Jewish people joined various other people to prevent fascists marching through London's east end. When I...

I want to ask why does God give us psychic powers put doesn't want us to develop them?

Maybe Frank it is because you ask dozens of questions yet give no indication of learning from the results. Maybe it is because that although many people have responded to your posts, you rarely have the decency to respond to them.

People Love Helpless Jews (to paraphrase a book title, People Love Dead Jews) - Jews that fight back, not so much

Short Answer - sarcasm /sär′kăz″əm/ noun A cutting, often ironic remark intended to express contempt or ridicule. A form of wit characterized by the use of such remarks. "detected a hint of sarcasm in his voice." A keen, reproachful expression; a satirical remark uttered with some degree of...

People Love Helpless Jews (to paraphrase a book title, People Love Dead Jews) - Jews that fight back, not so much

Yes it can. It can lead to rather strange situations. Back in the 70's I worked in Israel for a little while. One day I was going somewhere and I stopped a man to ask directions. He pointed down the road and said "go to the museum, do you know the museum?" Yes I knew the museum. "Well" he said...

Remembering past lives. Yes, apparently it's a thing.

So basically, you are saying that us primitives are the only ones to have convincing experiences while the "more neutral and independent" never do. Well you are wrong. Among believers I have known there has been a physician, a pharmacist and a biochemist. Not a witch doctor or soothsayer among...

People Love Helpless Jews (to paraphrase a book title, People Love Dead Jews) - Jews that fight back, not so much

I find this very hard to believe. I can imagine that victims of the holocaust would elicit great sympathy but that is something different. In my life I have never come across anything like the authors premise.

Remembering past lives. Yes, apparently it's a thing.

Yes, I think that is a fair comment. I have had a lifelong interest in the paranormal and in the main I have found that the difference between believers and non-believers is one of experience. The non-believers have simply not seen what the others have. There is nothing we can do about it, such...

    Being Remembered

Great question Salix, and not one that I had really considered. To be honest, with my life as it is, I could not care at all. I have been unlucky in that many good friends died young. Where I live in East London, local people have been leaving in droves for decades. Many of the incomers do not...

where were you 20 years ago?

I have mixed feelings about it. I was working long hours in a job that I hated and was struggling financially. I had stayed on as an RAF reservist which I did usually enjoy. It certainly made life more interesting.

What if you were told you were dying?

This question certainly provoked a lot of thought. In recent times there have been quite a few deaths but the two which really hit home were that of my mother and my ex-partner. I had not been on speaking terms with my mother for some years. I was very moved when one of my sisters told me that...

What say you? Or rather, what says your scripture?

I certainly agree @Spice it is a tough one. However, Salix's post did remind me of this, " Perseverance is the essential requirement in the practice of yoga. It has to be done day by day, week by week, year by year, until the mind is brought to the 'still point' where it is open to the grace of...

The Bible seems to always promote a flat earth belief over a spherical earth

That is one of their predictable responses. Photo's of Nazi death camps and astronauts on the moon are also fake, and the list will go on.
