A Universe from Nothing?

I don't see how "something from nothing" is even sensible. Nothingness did not, does not and cannot exist. It is a lack of existence. A lack of laws, mechanisms, ideas and everything else. Once you start attributing properties of any kind to nothingness, you are no longer talking about nothingness. For as long as time has been around, there was something, even if that something was only time itself.

Is that what Zarathustra said? Or the space alien in dunkin donuts?

I am not talking about human perceptions, experiences, beliefs, ideas, etc., of what is...but reality complete as it is...

You are ( I hope ) a human, so human experiences are the only thing you CAN talk about it.

"Complete reality" is an abstraction, an idea. Our limited senses and intellect mean that we will only ever be able to experience a small fraction of this hypothetical "complete reality".

That's precisely the point....truth exists...but is beyond apprehension by humans....

"Truth" is another abstraction, and also a philosophical can of worms.

We can only really talk about "known" and "unknown", and even "known" is problematic.

1st.......we have to find the source,
we have to find the nothingness,
from which we get the 'truth'.
There seems to be always,
some tiny piece missing.

"Source" and "nothingness" are just ideas, and not even very useful ones.

Better to marvel at the night sky and feel the wind on your face.

...and in a whiff of time this body's seeing and feeling is extinguished....and you think that is what the universe is all about.. The stars are produced for the wonderment of Ricky..... :)

my friend Rick,
You're forgetting the tiny little pieces that aren't there yet,
and the 'source' cannot be the 'nothingness',
that we haven't even found yet.
But the breeze does feel nice on my brow,
and the tickle of surf at my toes.
Oceans in every shell, nothingness nowhere,
I think the shells are the 'source',
of my pleasure anyway.

You are welcome to your Sunday-school fantasies. I will continue to enjoy the sense of wonder and discovery.

hey Aup,
Well, what I do understand about the Religion,
there are way too many idols and pseudo 'Gods'.
I kind of understand 'Nirvana',
the end of cognizant awareness,
the peace at the end of one's discoveries,
the satisfaction for having gotten to this point,
the loss of fear about what will follow.

Life is the 'cause', Stuff is the effect, like a nest of down into infinity.
I will certainly miss the gnosis I sense, and the knowledge I will loose.
~
But with all that glob and knowledge lack, I might drop in,
or have I ?
~
Never understand those DIRs.......exception of reality there,
but I guess that's 'religion'.........trying to find Nirvana.
~
Going on I am, and all this from 'nothing' sans 'ness'
