One example I mentioned (but that none of the Muslims here responded to) was the situation of being distracted by seeing a person who you're angry with. This could be much, much more distracting than merely seeing a person of the opposite sex (especially if that person is already wearing a hijab and non-form-fitting clothing), but there's no rule that says that people who have made many enemies should pray in a separate area of the mosque out of view of everyone else, is there?

Islam is not just about praying, friend. one has to purify his ego. if not, of course he would be as weak as possible. he would be so weak that even if there was not women around him, his thoughts would hunt him or he would be hunted by other stuff, his business deals, his mother's illness, his failure of exams...etc. at mosque goodness of majority is protected but of course no law are there to protect people from themselves. it is their job to "apply" cure by purifying ego

No surprise, Dar al-Islam as a group is way behind Dar al-Tawhid and Dar-al Harb, so much so that millions of Muslims have migrated from the former to the latter, primarily for economic reasons.

OK, i understand what you're saying and this is exactly what i tried to explain. there can not be rules for each distraction. because the source of every distraction is mainly in minds of people. you may perform salaat alone at home but still a thought can distract you. that happens. the example you give is a personal matter. rage is one of the vices of ego. some vice that one must fight against. if a Muslim is not on a path where he purifies vices of ego, his rage would distract him naturally. but certain inclination towards a person is not one of the vices of ego. if you fall in love with someone, that is not a sin. matter of fact most people need to have a mate to be happier. even though that's what people need, mosque is not a place to find yourself a mate. mosques meant to stand before God. therefor there is separation to make it easier. i don't know any mosque that does not separate male and female. i, for one, am happy to be separated from men since i am not comfortable around some strangers while i am performing salaats. above all, if i go to mosque, i go there only for God; not for men or not for being separated from men. therefor IMO what matters is God, not where you stand. again in my opinion, if someone cares more about where he or she stands in a mosque than standing before God, there must be something utterly wrong about their intention of being there. if i could chose, i would definetely chose to be separated. i know what kind of men out there. so, this is not just about distraction. this is also about security and comfort

i am trying hard to be kind here. we know about Afghan women and how they feel about USA soldiers. for the last time i checked they were despiting their existence in Afghanistan because they built whorehouses around villages and exported prostitues from Asian nations and no way; even though these Afghan people suffer in poverty and they need any help they can get, they still find 'needs' of American soldiers disgusting. they are not OK with this kind of stuff. it is not just once or twice, after all it is very well known they give people Bible and they try to change religion and culture in Afghanistan by using Afghan people's urgent needs such as medicine and food and terrible poverty they suffer from. this is just abusive and there is only agenda behind it and this is not about charity. nobody's going to buy lies like that as if they are there to improve rights of women. USA is simply ruining Muslim nations, they are killing Muslims, they are killing anyone who stands on their way only to GAIN! so get over it!

Sorry, if you reject the leading scientific discovery in the history of Biology, you're rejecting science. If you think you can reject evolution and that you're still accepting science, your in even worse shape. You're rejecting science while embracing a false view of it. Your post exemplified the problem--scientific ignorance and magical thinking.

I have to differ. I think the problem with the economies of predominantly Muslim countries has a lot more to do with this attitude toward science than anything about the qur'an. After all, countries that have nothing to do with the qur'an are doing just fine, while those who strive to base their government on it are floundering.

I will ignore your ignorance and denial of Science for now (Yes, you deny evolution you deny Science) and heartily Agree with you on this post.

You need to know some things about Americans and the U.S as a whole to truly understand the actions of the people.

1. The Average american truly believes they do "good" when they bomb and kill muslims in other nations, They TRULY think that this is something good and that we make the world a better place.

2. American woman are appalled at how the "muslim woman" are treated, our culture says woman can do the same as us (and should) at the same time as, obviously, they do not, as there is a difference between men and woman, but any culture different from our own is Wrong(tm), substitute Muslim for Japanese or Chinese, they will same the same, there is only one Way, that is OUR WAY all others are inferior.

3. We think it is horrible that muslims bomb and kill people but we think (the average) that it is not only OK, but good that We kill people on a massive scale ourselfs, once again, We are the Best, what we do is Good.


If you combine this thinking, which stems from poor education, xenophobia and various other things, you get a pretty bad picture, but that is how We as a Nation Are. When I was in my teens I was just as any American you would meet, I thought we where the Best because my parents told me that, the news told me that and our all movies, culture and music told us that.. And then I travelled and saw the real world...

Between my 20s to 30s I almost soley travelled from country to country, lived in some whiles "living as a tourist" in some, I saw cultures so different from mine whiles seeing cultures so superior that I couldn't believe it, around mid 35 I had decided to make the world a better place, make people get access to proper education, hospitals and the real world, it was my firm "belief" that with education and knowledge of the world, they would never become like us, xenophobix, ignorant and hateful. I grew to despise my own "people" because of their ignorance, meeting a fellow American in Thailand I couldn't stop myself from looking at him as a most-likely-to-be pedophile being there to buy a young boy or (if hetereosxual) thai girl, not fair?, sure, but seeing a Big Fat smelling American on the street of Bali ARGUING over the price (she wanted 10$ he wanted to pay 2$) you lose faith in humanity.

Your religious book will take you the wrong way, start respecting people for what they are instead of doing what you "think" you should do, LOOK at what is needed, this is how we got Vaccines, Computers and iPods... Your book will take you back, not forward and my own Nation wants to take the way you want, a Holy Book written by ignorant shepers thousands of years ago.
