From His word anyone can so long as it doesn't contradict His word.I think you do not hear from God.
That is why I know you do not hear from God. Because you say His word is man's written testimony of God.From His word anyone can so long as it doesn't contradict His word.
? Lol I don't put anyone on ignore (even if I knew how) lolThat is why I know you do not hear from God. Because you say His word is man's written testimony of God.
God's Word is Jesus Christ. Surely you know this.
I thought you had put me on ignore. In fact, I was sure of it.
YOU say, "it is infallible". What does that mean, please?? Lol I don't put anyone on ignore (even if I knew how) lol
The bible was indeed written by men, no doubt. But it all was inspired by the Holy Spirit-by God. Which is why it's good for correction, teaching and the like. If anyone wants to know God or how He thinks on issues, it's right there in His infallible word and if anyone thinks there hearing from Hod as the Holy Spirit can, we are commanded to test those thoughts by Gods word to see if they really are from Hod or just our subconscious or even the enemy
Hod-definition: When one tries to type 'God' but hits the wrong key lolYOU say, "it is infallible". What does that mean, please?
I believe only God is inerrant and infallible. If the Bible is also inerrant and infallible it is equal to God.Hod-definition: When one tries to type 'God' but hits the wrong key lol
And The historic Christian teaching is that the Bible is both inerrant and infallible. It is without error (inerrant) because it is impossible for it to have errors (infallible).
You can speak for God by quoting His word. That is the only place to know for sure what His views are on things. If you feel Gods talking to you about something, see if it lines up with His word (the Bible). If it doesn't then it's not of God. For God never contradicts Himself like telling you to do something He said is wrong etc... Joseph Smith, Muhammad, Bahualla and the Jehovahs Witnesses have contradictory beliefs of what Jesus did and said. That's why you can't trust every person who says they hear from God.
The bible warns to test the spirits to make sure there from God. And you do that by seeing if it lines up with His word (the Bible). Hope this helps
You can hear the word of God through others as well as yourself-so long as it agrees and is not contradicting His word as God cannot contradict Himself. And since Muhammad, Joseph Smith, Bahuallah and the like contradict His word, there teachings are not of GodPeople of God such as Jesus, Muhammad, and Buhalluah got their words directly from God, and spoke to believers without scripture intemediaries.
If you had no Bible, can God still speak through you to us? Can we hear His voice through what He tells you?
(Anyone can "hear" God from reading the Bible, Quran, etc. However, believers hear Him not just in these set scriptures, but they know if they didnt have their scripture, His voice can still be expressed from their heart. That is where the Word is.)
Are you depended on God's words to hear the Word or is it possible to hear His Word even if the bible is not nearby to quote?
God is Truth, therefor what He says is Truth. If he inspires His word to be written down, then that word by definition is Truth. Though it doesn't mean it's equal to God, just that it came from God.I believe only God is inerrant and infallible. If the Bible is also inerrant and infallible it is equal to God.
Their teachings are from God. However, thats not my point. Do believers feel that uncomfortable that they need to test whether their words come from God?You can hear the word of God through others as well as yourself-so long as it agrees and is not contradicting His word as God cannot contradict Himself. And since Muhammad, Joseph Smith, Bahuallah and the like contradict His word, there teachings are not of God
I don't believe anyone can know the whole truth in one lifetime, but that is my belief. In many paths of Buddhist thought, we are reincarnated and I firmly believe that. So in seeking the truth, one may find bits of it in one lifetime, or suddenly a lot but never all of it until one is enlightened. I may reflect on the teachings of Christ or The Buddha or any of a number of other things. These may lead me to an answer but most simple everyday things are small and really don't require all that much.If you will put Truth ahead of your own will it will pop the ball out of every hole it does not belong in. Then you will know which one is right when it settles in its correct hole. Yes, my mind has holes. Just ask anyone here.
That's fine..for you..but many do not believe that the Bible is the word of God. It contains some wisdom that Christ taught but beyond that, I find it too frustrating than not. Particularly with regard to Paulian dogma. You can speak for God by quoting His word. That is the only place to know for sure what His views are on things. If you feel Gods talking to you about something, see if it lines up with His word (the Bible). If it doesn't then it's not of God. You are assuming here that Jesus read scripture but that is conjecture Carlita. He was a carpenter and most of the blue collar people did not learn to read. We have no historical evidence that Jesus could read. But I do agree that for many, the Bible has become an idol and they really dont think about the teachings of Christ at all. And the same for all others. In my faith, the teachings of The Buddha were and are thought of as tools for the person to work with on their own journey and definitely not the word of God.What is the difference between the words of a believer and the words of, say, Jesus?
Both believe in God.
Both get their words directly from God.
Both use scripture.
Yet, Jesus (and Muhammad, and Joseph Smith) all got their words from God directly. Jesus only refersd to Hebrew scriptures when needed.
Yet, many believers depend on the scripture as if it IS God.
No apostle mistake scripture for Jesus. I am sure Muhammad would look at you funny for calling His written work the Creator.
Depending on scripture is fine when it doesnt become an idol of worship.
Not at allTheir teachings are from God. However, thats not my point. Do believers feel that uncomfortable that they need to test whether their words come from God?
Wouldnt you know? Its not a knowedge thing.
Can you not think for yourself? reflecting on the Christ and trusting yourself to hear from God? It seems, from reading your posts, you consider the Bible God and that is, IMO, idolatry.? Lol I don't put anyone on ignore (even if I knew how) lol
