Why was this randomly chosen hadith supposed to mention rape?
If it did it wouldn't need to be mentioned separately in the Quran.
What rape?No it doesn't mention rape,it ignores rape and the focus is on whether to practice coitus interruptus or not, these women are slaves,it's not like they are free to say no!,this was true for many ancient cultures,it occurs in the Bible too but it still doesn't make it right.

Yes. That doesn't relate well to what I said.Islam encouraged the freeing of slaves and protection of war widows.

No, certainly not in the Qur'an.Doesn't what your right hand possess also mean persons under your guardianship?
I am refuting your claim there needs to be marriage to be intimate with a captive.I am getting lost in this discussion.

What rape?
You do know that some captive women want to have sex? And you also read what I posted earlier about the law at that time? And you also know that only one man, the master, can be intimate with the captive? And you know this can't happen until the captive has been assigned to him? And you know there are several versions of this same hadith that are a little bit different from one to another - which might give you perspective.

I forgot to mention the Iddat. In short she is still a captive, being "assigned to him",she is still a captive being held against her will, after all that's what a captive is right?.
There are many Hadith of course, not all are agreed on,some seem cherry picked to prove or make a precedent to do whatever one wishes, some say that if it different in intent to what's in the Quran it is nullified, what your right hand posseses is difficult in this instance imo.

An Imam has told his congregation in Wales that war is approaching and Islam allows them to take women as slaves and rape them.
UK Imam: War is Coming, Muslims Can Take Women As Sex Slaves
Is this a preamble to Zechariah 14:3 ?
Zechariah 14:2 2I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
Please provide sources to support your statement. That already happened. Arabs, Syrians and Persians fought with the Roman Legions in 70 AD.
If you are concerned about rape in warfare. Look at the number of rapes in occupied Berlin at the end of WW2.
