Capitalists may have the same mentality as Nazis: that people must be enslaved

Those territories belong to the Russian Federation, annexed via referendums.

After the military invasion, through sham "referendums"

This us what Italian media say.

It's not what your prime minister says.
Regardless of what your favorite propaganda channel likes to claim.

“If President Putin’s proposal is: We are willing to have a peace negotiation if Ukraine recognizes the invasion of Ukraine and gives up the occupied parts ... doesn’t seem particularly effective to me as a proposal,” Meloni said

Italy is too Russophilic to remain in the EU...don't you agree?

It rather seems like you are speaking for yourself and pretending to speak for Italy.
You are free to move to Russia if you think life is better there.

Good luck with that. I'ld advice against it though. They aren't very fond of people of your particular gender / orientation.

The stance of the Italian PM seems to be the opposite of what you are claiming here.

Now you are quoting our Prime Minister...
You should know that Italy cannot support Ukraine forever,...and sooner or later the war shall terminate.

Interesting.
What would you call a dictator that expropriates lands from landowners, and imposes price limits on basically everything, including renting, loans...etc...?
Your question lacks enuf info for
me to apply an accurate label.
I sense mischief.
Why hide the identity of your
dictator?

There has been something resembling modern capitalism before, but not exactly the same, and not as much wide spread. And if you want to put a date on when capitalism was invented, Smith is a good candidate. Another would be the opening of the London Exchange in 1802.
Absurd.
Even corporate personhood
predates the London Exchange.

Were I you, I wouldn't double down on
the hurdle that a thing doesn't exist until
philosophers give it a name, description,
& inception date.

Well...the Spanish-American war marked an era.
No more Europeans crossing the Atlantic to interfere...

At that point, I think Europe had far greater things to worry about than what was going on in the Americas. Although it was a major turning point. As a result of the Spanish-American War, the Americans were now in the Philippines (whose annexation was probably one of the biggest mistakes we ever made, in addition to being an utter atrocity). We were also involved in the foreign imperialism of China, which made us temporary "allies" of other European powers, as well as Japan. At that point, America and Europe were interfering in Asia together, so once we started getting involved with each other on that basis, there was no turning back.

It's My Birthday!
The rich:

Those who have far more than they need to survive and thrive, but still will not share with those who don’t.

See, that wasn’t hard to define at all.
Most of the middle income and poor I know meet that standard; got anything else?

Italy

Yes. The Italian State will expropriate the property from me. And compensate me of course, with the price of the land.
Totally fair to me.
Totally fair to you? So if you decide your land is worth 100 times more than what you paid for it, they will pay you that amount?

It's the State that decides the value of property.
Also if it's a land in an archaeological site.
The State will expropriate it.
Totally fair to me.

No we can choose if we want to work or forage. May have saved those starving Soviets. Besides this Americans and Nato allies in general are freer than their counterparts.

To me it looks like the continuation of the Monroe Doctrine - only not restricted to the Americas.

Perhaps, although the Monroe Doctrine came just before the Spanish Empire in the Americas fell like dominoes. The British also had their own reasons for going along with it in the post-Napoleonic era. It didn't bother Britain, and none of the European powers at the time could really do anything about it, so that's where it stood.

A key difference is that the Monroe Doctrine came at a time when America was still barely out of infancy. I don't think we could be called an "empire" at that point, but if we were, it was an empire in a state of ascendancy. After WW2, the focus shifted away from America and more towards the ideology of the "free world," but in practice, it was mainly to fill the power vacuum left by the weakening of the European empires under the guise of protecting them from communist agitators.

Not all capitalism is slavery (as in "involuntary servitude"). Not only does socialism involve capitalism, but it also cannot exist without capitalism.

Economic socialism involves policies that mandate capitalism. For example, minimum wage laws are state-mandated policies pertaining to capital; they look appealing to the so-called "working class", but they're actually bad for the so-called "working class" because they price jobs out of existence for them and destroy smaller businesses that would've otherwise had jobs to offer them, which - in turn, leaves them jobless & without the money they need to pay their bills for a higher standard of living that they could've had.

Have you tried to click on the link? (The one to the question posted.)
I have not.
I see it now.
I will click on it.

One recent distraction is this article,
which shows a wonderful side of capitalism....

Because she didn't pose that question to me, I didn't notice it.
If one intends directing a question to a particular poster,
tis best to alert that poster.

Her question....
"What date did capitalism start?"
My answer....
I don't know.
It's impossible to comb thru all recorded & un-recorded
history to discover an exact year when the first instance
of privately owned means of production occurred.
However, I speculate that even before the extensive
trade (capitalism) of the bronze age, people engaged
in commerce & business.
