Not at all, society will always form sub cultures...I just hope one day people generally identify with a global culture first and foremost as I identify with being European (not british) first and foremost now.
The assimilation will be of national level..not sub culture level..sub cultures will go on.
Eventually of course in time many will fade away and be completely absorbed..thats not for us to see now..it is the question of identity which matters most.

Oh sure. go ahead try and ban one of the most important practices of a 1.5+ billion people religion with hundreds of millions of its adherents already involved in armed conflict with Western nations.Ahem..and Muslim male members too of course.
Think of this discussion as setting a precident for how we view how questionable authority is given to those in the name of religion...and the observance of the rights of everyone

I'm an Israeli. compromise to me means that after a few years you find out that somehow I gained more territorial control, your people are more miserable, and all because you somehow thought it is a good idea to provoke me in the most minimal of ways. think how much more do I feel provoked when its my juicy circumcised member which is at steak. this will evoke an ancient Hebrew code of conduct us secular Jews have been trying to root out from the Jewish collective for a long time now: 'Remember Amalek'.

On my former visit to London, I was amazed of the wealth of literature written by British historians of the efficient Jewish resistance in Palestine, they have called it, 'the most efficient resistance which has driven out the British from a region'.
