City passes proposal to remove Trump's star from Hollywood Walk of Fame

But he is only considered an enemy of the people by a few fringe malcontents that seem to have serious mental problems.

Really? I think there are a good number of very sane people across the country who consider Trump to be a very dangerous individual, including myself, and I know I'm not crazy. Someone who is paranoid of a free press, who calls it 'the enemy of the people', under the color of authority, I think is not just irresponsible, but a pretty crazy individual. By doing this, he is polarizing his base even further away from reality. It is this paranoid group of Trump supporters who have serious mental problems. In their eyes, their god Trump can do no wrong. A free press is fundamental to our civil liberties. It keeps the lines of communication open between government and the people, hardly the enemy of the people. Trump wants to silence the press so he can have free reign as absolute monarch.

geez...do u think it was pleasant to stand a Caliph at the WH for 8 years?
I guess we're even , now

I wondered what happened to all those nut case Obama haters who made such ridiculous claims. Obama was up to no good, they thought, wanting to turn the US into a socialist state, from a Christian Nation (it isn't) into a Muslim nation, and all sorts of other unspeakable things. Then there was Trump, hell bent on keeping that ni**ah out'a the WH by exposing his imaginary non US birth certificate. Obama made a fool of Trump publicly, as you may recall, Obama having several times more the intelligence than that current Mussolini gorilla in a business suit. (Sorry, gorillas. It's just a figure of human speech). So 8 years of that n**gah in the WH made you uncomfortable, he? Twitchin' and turnin' in your bed at night for 8 full years. My my. Now you can rest assured that we have a real man in charge of the Good Ship Lollipop, instead of that silly 'boy', eh? Poor baby! I had no idea!

Currently, is there anyone else but Trump who is considered to be that enemy?
We shall see.
But violence like vandalism needn't be repeated in the same venue.
When tempers flare, people lash out, & they see support for it, more
can erupt in unpredictable ways & places.

The right refuses to listen to reason, so this is one of the outcomes. They've seized power illegitimately, and are doing everything possible to keep it, which includes dehumanizing and denigrating the press and the liberals. So what did Hitler do to make the Jews expendable? He dehumanized them via the doctrine of untermenschen. This idea of less than human is being spread all around the country, especially by the right wing media, which literally labels liberals as scum. These are classic examples of the psychological interplay between Persona and Shadow. The right currently busy foisting its Shadow upon its opponents. The press is the enemy of the people, they say. Liberals and the left are insane. All that is needed to shut the press down and toss those leftist crazies into solitary is the slightest excuse to declare martial law. Then they'll have it clinched. Laws will be passed making the doctrine of a 'Christian Nation' official. Once that is done, non-Christians will be ostracized in every walk of life, denying them their civil rights. There will be no end to the blood-letting. The modern tools of interrogation and surveillance will be unleashed full tilt upon the populace. No one will be safe from suspicion and scrutiny. The level of oppression will make Nazi Germany and The Inquisition look like chlld's play.

Maybe pick axe boy's action was an act of courage.
What alternate universe do you live in? It is the left being completely unreasonable.

Again, it's not about the physical star, but what it symbolizes. Pick axe boy's act was very powerful. The best thing you can do to a liar like Trump is to tear down their facade.
So a rapist like Bill Cosby’s Star is fine with this vandal but not a sitting President.

Maybe he has a thing for Kevin Spacey? (Full disclosure: Spacey is one of my favorite actors notwithstanding his fall from grace.)

That is an unfortunate and dangerous problem.

Donald tRump has never done anything honestly and with integrity to earn the Star.
Do you think Hollywood is known for its discernment of honesty and integrity? Have you heard of Harvey Weinstein?

Someone apparently destroyed his star with a pickaxe.

So that's what a fallen star looks like.

Oh well. I guess he'll still be in Disney's Hall of Presidents.

Frankly, I don't care if they remove one star or all of them.

The star gives Trump undeserved attention/recognition/importance/fame via the prestige of Hollywood. It's somewhat akin to what a Jew who suffered the holocaust might do to a statue of Hitler or monument in the form of a swastika, were they publicly on display. It's not right or wrong. It is what it is.
Over the line, kindly don’t use the murder of 6 million of my fellow Jews for your cheap theatrics.
