Counterfeit Twenties

Ridiculous. So.....let everybody go????

Yes.......... where misdemeanors are involved Brit citizens and police are only allowed to detain or arrest if the person cannot be identified.

I don't know about America, but George Floyd was known..... there was no way that he could evade facing a Court.

He was probably shocked.......... he was a security person himself and probably panicked, not believing he had done anything wrong.

He would never have been convicted for that, because innocent folks get fake notes given to them all the time. In Britain the fake note would be withheld by the shop etc but the person would not be.

Ummm......who said it did?

On the side......... George, you've probably received fake notes yourself in the past and unknowingly passed them on..... never realising. In Britain we get a surfeit of fake notes and coins, our old £1 coins were so faked that any handful of them would contain fakes. All Brits have passed fake coins before, for sure, but innocently.

One would still need to co-operate with the identification process. I guess we don't know how he would have co-operated or if he had a valid address.

We don't know if George Floyd knew it was counterfeit or not. But regardless if it was me and I was innocent I would have co-operated with the police doing their job in a respectful manner.

Mr Floyd has worked with the killer on nightclub security before. He was already known.

Imagine you got deceived by a shopkeeper who had a fake $20 note he needed to get rid of..... who waited till you left the shop and then accused you outside? But like Mr Floyd you were a security man and realised you were being set up? O'm not saying that's what happened but it could explain his 'Oh no you don't!' kind of response.

And here it comes...
I've arrested lots of fake note deceptions and I can tell anybody that you have to let them leave the shop and watch them go to a second shop and do it again........ then you used to be able detain/arrest them. However, in 2017 a 2005 Act came in to full force which denied a power of arrest for this offence to citizens. That's how dodgy it is.....proving intent.

I understand Floyd paid with a suspected counterfeit bill (not was given). Now whether he knew it was counterfeit we don't know. Either way if you did nothing wrong just co-operate politely. I even say 'Sir'. You will always have a legal voice at least later.

Oh, don't worry about that! Me and @Kangaroo Feathers would chuck ourselves on the ground, prone, silent and beholden......... but not anywhere near a killer cop we wouldn't....... we'd leg it! :p

Mr Floyd knew that cop....... knew his record of violence, I'll bet.

No. Mr Floyd could have been deceived by the shopkeeper who needed to lose a fake $20 he had received before. It's happened.... I've caught exactrly that crime before.

But........ we'll never know now because it will never be tried..... so My Floyd is innocent.... no conviction!

People cooperate with police and still get killed. Stop trying to blame the victim.

Almost never unless there was confusion. If the victim didn't co-operate with police orders he is at fault to some extent.
You have an interesting definition of not cooperating when he was handcuffed and pinned down on the concrete by 3 cops. Anything to avoid putting the blame where it belongs.
