Did Jesus say he was God???

So you're saying they aren't from this world "to the extent" that He isn't?
You'll have to explain how?
because the qualifier starts here in vs 6
“I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word..."

so really, you're not arguing with me, you are arguing with the gospel of john.

The prayer to his god seems so cut and dry....Let's see where this thread goes.....

we'll see.

it's as if he just takes those words at face value without regard to what gave those words meaning

"just as you are in me and I am in you"
means nothing in that sentence with out the qualifier which so happens to be
"that all of them maybe one"

now if mark2020 can show how a group of people can be one being, rather than in one accord, then i will concede...but i doubt that he can because it defies logic and reason on all levels.

and where do you think they were before that?
Does this mean they are not of this world?
Can you apply the same thing to Jesus?

so really, you're not arguing with me, you are arguing with the gospel of john.
No. Just with your understanding.

Yep...Yeshua is praying to his god and talking about how he wants the disciples to be one in purpose.

You seem to have comprehension issues.:thud:
Not only can you apply that stuff to jesus but also to the apostles. Jesus doesn't make himself to be any more than any other human. If it is symbolic that "they are not of this world" then it is symbolic for Jesus as well unless he is some sort of alien being.

they are the ones god gave jesus out of this world, there is no mention of where they were before that.

they are not of this world as jesus is not of this world
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it

Does this mean they are not of this world?
Can you apply the same thing to Jesus?
jesus is just like them, when using the adverbs even as, is he not?

You just echoed the verses without replying to my questions.

i did reply. i said,
jesus is just like them, when using the adverbs even as

why don't you explain the purpose for jesus using even as and just as

You didn't reply:
Can you apply your own rule here:

(John 17:16 [KJV]) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

ps. Both "just as" and "even as" are the same Greek word "kathos"

because the qualifier starts here in vs 6
“I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word..."

Does this mean they are not of this world?
Can you apply the same thing to Jesus?
