And maybe God is trying to be patient....
trying to spare the rod.....

And some of this thread has the sound of children...
making noise because they want to.

What happens to noisy children?

and maybe god doesn't exist and you're waiting for tomorrow to come
keep waiting....

yeah that's true, i guess i will have to carry around that penalty for the rest of my days  they never give up!

Scenario....
I stand up...after my last breath...and the angels appear.

They might ask....'anyone else to be considered?'

Shall I answer for you? what shall I say on your behalf?

Or should I give up?

let him use his free will
who do you think you are? a self appointed mediator between his free will and the will of the tyrannical and insecure god of your fictitious bible?

burnt for eternity???

where do you get your ideas from

i'm not talking about Jehovah's witnesses here. I'm talking about the christians who believe in hell and that when you die and you aren't a christian you go there for eternity. Clear it up for you? Not everything revolves around your own distinct interpretation of the bible.

and not everything revolves around the false idea of hell either

If you know what the original words mean, then why keep going on about something you know is completely false as a way to discredit the bible? I just dont understand why you do that.

If i wanted to discredit the bible, all i have to do is say "the bible was written roughly 2000 years ago by a bunch of desert scribes who wanted to make a bunch of money"

And it wasn't discrediting the bible, it was discrediting his implying that children should get beaten and punished for being loud. Would you backhand your child just because they're being loud?

Well...if you don't want anyone to speak on your behalf....okay.....

But to stand before angels and declare God to be...insecure?
Are you sure this works for you?

In this discussion about slavery I showed this verse from Micah which shows that in a world governed by God, slavery would not be a part of it.
But it doesn't even say that. It says there will no more war, not no more slavery. And so what? God authorizes us to practice it in the meantime.

I have said repeatedly that slavery is and always was a man made construct and i have shown how God gave the isrealites laws which regulated their 'already existing practice' of slavery in order to make it better.
And God also authorizes us to do it.

No, God did not outlaw it because in some cases it was for the benefit of those who were poor and destitute.
Yeah, like enemy children captured in battle.
No, the slavery among the isrealites was NOTHING like the cruel african slave trade which was 'once again' mans invention.
Wow, you're good at ignoring stuff you don't like. No, the slavery that was like the American-African slave trade was the slavery of foreigners, which God authorizes us to do.

But lets ignore all that in favor of condemning God for a practice that man himself is responsible for. Same old story.
GOD AUTHORIZES IT. You continue to ignore this. Man is responsible for following God's law, which permits slavery.
